asking for advice...thats another topic...
dose anyone have any suggestions where else i might try? that was my topic
Police and how they work...thats another topic...
one that i never approached till you did
"put your money where your mouth is"....if you know someone breaking the law...report them...if you don't you cant complain about the system...simple as that
you imply i have not reported as i am honest its a duty so i took this as casting aspursions
its an entitlement they are elligible for....
true - but they think they would rather try all opptions i.e. working one day a week cleaning rather than scrounge £45 of the state. i also think they should claim but as the youngets said that is less than a quarter of the cost of insurance
and perhaps with a bit more convincing from you and/or your husband
yes we are still married. we bought our kids up to work hard and have their own minds, why should we try and tell them what to think and do now? i belive if they work for peannuts its better than queing down the dole hole with some of the undesirables that i see out side. i think it is a matter of pride - our pride in them and their pride in themselves
all our savings have just gone on putting our daughter through the LPC, she finishes in July...there are few if any training contracts around...so she's unfortunately going on the dole, our son is learning to drive, we know he won't be able to afford insurance when he passes his test, he will however have a licence when he applies for a job
we too put our middle son through uni and our youngest through college we also paid for all driving lessons and pass plus and theory test we also gave them 1000 towards there 1st car. hubby works in a wearhouse and i am on mimimu wage and the kids got full emi beause a join wage was low. never once in all that time have we asked for anything EVER. all i wanted was a wee bit of advice on how to get cheaper insurance. nothing more nothing less mate0 -
"nothing less mate"...ahhh the vitriol flows....I think you seem to have quite a large chip on your shoulder...the world owes you nothing...I owe you nothing...
"all i wanted was a wee bit of advice on how to get cheaper insurance."...but you unfrotunately went onto a "rant" about insurance companies and lawbreakers...you opened Pandoras box....not me
and you're spending too much time getting bitter...over a simple forum thread....
move on....how you see things...and choose what you prefer to read into them says it all....
back to Britains got talent....its more entertaining....
my final word...take it easy...chill out....and dont fight with everyone...you're making mountains out of molehills....life is too short...
be the bigger person....let it rest now.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -
let it rest now
i will mate - i have less to worry about than you! if you are watching and enjoying BGT then i feel for you - bless
i have no chip my shoulder are far to rounded for the chip to stay on :-) i just get miffed with people who assume and then make comments they dont know about. if you take a wee peek at the other comments given non of them gave anything but advice.
maybe you should try it some time :-)
enjoy your tv mate0 -
I knew....lol.....
mate....mate....wonderful command of the Queens English.....
"all i wanted was a wee bit of advice on how to get cheaper insurance."...but you unfortunately went onto a "rant" about insurance companies and lawbreakers...you opened Pandoras box....not me
selective reading of posts....
you know sometimes you can't really blame the kids for how they are....its the parents you should look at....
not aimed at anyone...just a statement of how Britain is today....I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

What is the car he is trying to insure? And, as a matter of interest, how much did the car park claim amount to?0
-
the car is a per 306 x reg the car park was just under 200 but he was told not to pay the insurance back as he had to claim as his car had been stolen so he had already lost his no claims0
-
torby at last something we agree on -you know sometimes you can't really blame the kids for how they are.... - hubby and i work hard and think some people on the dole are lazy and will not do dirty jobs as its beneath them - they go to college get usless degrees and then go on the dole. that is why britain is like it is0
-
Well, a 306 can be anywhere between insurance group 5 and 17 depending on the model. The only ways to get cheaper insurance is get a car in a lesser group and / or increase the excess, limit the mileage, make sure the car is fully alarmed and immobilised (sounds like it wasn't), park it off-road / garage if possible, and get TPFF instead of fully comp if not already. And don't claim for anything you don't absolutely have to. A claim of a few hundred can add thousands to your insurance bill.0
-
yep you are right. he had to claim for the car because he needed one for work. he bought one identical to the one they stole. he is now looking at getting a cleo 1.2 he is already on tpft. i just wondered if there was and insurance company that looked at the claims rather than how many - hes had one accident in 4 years and the cost of the was less then 200 so i thought there must be a company that looked at the whole picture but its looking un likley0

I'm retired on a pension and have less coming into my home than some of the local druggies
Which explains why you obviously spend so much time reading the Daily Mail, judging by your pompous attitude and the content of some of your subsequent posts.
To the OP, your lads not had much luck has he? The other (non Mail reading) posters are correct, you won't get much joy on the comparison sites. You will need to speak to some Brokers as a lot of them will have schemes that are not on the web sites. It may also be worth looking at a shorter term policy (6 months?) to give him a chance to get back in work - he won't get any bonus this way but it may save a bit of cash.
My lad insured with Thames City Insurance and got a good deal over the phone (he's 20), I'm sure other posters will also be able to suggest some other Brokers. Do be careful with Quinn though, there are plenty of other threads on this forum about them.
Good luck. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0
