It's pretty obvious what the problem is, you can paint the card any colour you like and call it what you like, but as long as the 16 digit number is still an Electron coded number the card is still Electron as far as the stores are concerned.
The first 4 digits will need to change for the card to register as Visa Debit.====0 -
Its a real pain isn't it - second class citizens again, even though most of us have arrived here through no fault of our own - just the recession......
As I said before, I was told that the terms and conditions still state that we must be present to use the card - thats why tesco, M&S etc won't allow it. Surely the co-op can make that change en mass to all of the accounts.
F**** F**** F**** ( sorry had to let off steam !!!!!!!)
That isn't why they won't take it, they won't take it because it's often given to under 18yo's and they sell alcohol on their websites, John Lewis has the same policy too.
At least that's what they have all told me at different point in time.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I am so annoyed by this as I really wanted my card updated so I could shop at Tesco online!
I am going to open an RBS basic account as you get a solo card which Tesco accept. You can get the card as long as your bankruptcy is discharged and you have to take a letter in to prove so.£2 Savers club £0/£150

I have only had the co-op electron for 2 month due to also having a barclays cashcard and i had to book a train ticket for my partner online altho it didnt accept electron ( or it wasnt listed anyway) i classed it under visa debit and it went thru a ok. mite be worth trying that infuture.?!?
Would classing it under Electron avoid the fee?0
