Usual shaving and I'm using boots smooth skin on my underarms, will move on to bikini line once underarms are finished.

You make that sound permanent, is it?
  • de-fuzz (the usual bits and eye brows)
clear nail varnish when I can be bothered
concealer to hide my panda eyes
and once or twice a year permanent mascara
    hairdressers only before special occasions...

The older I get the less I care - and in my job being 'dollied up' is a disadvantage - I work in a male oriented environment... :D ...where some men still think 'all beauty and no brains' - not all men, but unfortunately some still think that..that's my excuse not to go through too much trouble though!

As a teenager I used to work in a specialist make-up shop, so I have been through my share of spending hours in front of the mirror in the morning. ..thankfully I don't have to do that anymore! :p

    Hi Glowgirl!

Hi MrsE, yes boots smooth skin is supposed to be permanant - I think they claim permanent hair reduction but I think that is just to cover them incase it doesn't work as well on some people. I think it is working, I have used it 3 times (once a week) and the hair is much fine and much slower growing, they say to use it for 12 weeks I think so I'm hoping it will all be gone in a few more weeks. Have a look at this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1526287 there is lots of info and positive reviews, but be warned - by the time you have finished reading you will really want to buy one!

I shave my armpits and legs but this is just hygiene and comfort imho!

In my opinion (and experience) shaving is no more hygienic than not shaving.

I personally find shaving to be very uncomfortable.

I understand what they mean about hygiene, I feel really dirty if I need shaving & I never feel cleaner than right after shaving.

Not sure how fake I am:

Hair - not dyed but I use GHDs to straighten it

    Eyebrows - plucked

Face - usually don;t wear make-up unless I'm going out for the night

Body - don;t use fake tan much

Shaving - yes I shave. Legs, armpits and bikini line

Nails - on hands usually bare, on feet the same but in summer I use nail varnish

Teeth - not whitened, just natural

Boobs - totally fake! :D bought them in 2002!

OH's sister tweezes my eyebrows for me as I have the worst hand eye-co-ordination EVER! Lol.
    Subtle makeup

Other stuff is just the usual hair removal etc.

I don't use fake tan as I have very uneven skin tone. I never tan naturally. I usually go straight to burn. It doesn't bother me that I don't tan though. Pale skin is my look and I think a few people may have a heart attack if they saw me with a tan.Lol.

Darn nearly au naturel here. Just a little eye make-up. Everything else - "what you see is what you get".

The only thing I'm insistent on is staying slim - as far as I'm concerned - if I'm looking slim and healthy - then I'm looking a lot better than most.

There would be no contest between someone with all the "fake" stuff - but visibly overweight and someone with nothing fake at all - but they looked slim and healthy...the slim/healthy one would look miles better to me every time.

I wear make up and defuzz but that's it.
Luckily at 54 I don't have any grey hair so colouring is'nt a problem and since I've worn sunblock on my face all my life I've got realy good skin.
I do spend a lot on good skin creams though.
I just could'nt be bothered with anything fake and I hate being fussed over.
Fake tans don't interest me,I like being pale and a tan would'nt suit my fair hair.
I have'nt even,in all my years been to a hair dresser.I get my husband to trim my hair. It's long so it's easy to do.
Teeth, boobs ect are still as nature intended and are going to stay that way.
