Hi LittleMissAspie, you are the only other person who I have heard of who feels the same way about long nails that I do, when I tell people I get eye rolling and 'oh for gods sake', I'm not a clean freak nor do I have OCD thankfully but just cant stand long nails and what could be lurking underneath:eek: painted and short is the way to go for me:)

I don't like mine long either, not because of germs because I wash then all the time, carry wet wipes & anti-bac gel:o

    But can't do things.

So I have mine just a bit longer than the tops of my nails.

I have an acrylic coating & a french manicure over that. I have a much bigger white tip than my tip actually is & it creates a trick of the eye. Med nails that look long;)
Then I have a coating of gel applied over that & the finish lasts 3-4 weeks. Looks very clean, classic & groomed.

Everything is my own, I pluck my eyebrows and shave and wear make up. I did get in to using lots of products but I found most are a con! Claim to do things but don't.

Bit embarrassed here - I am also fake!

    At Salon
Hair coloured every 6 weeks since I was 14
    Eyebrows professionally waxed
    Eyelashes tinted
    Gel nails every 2-3 weeks
    Pedicure every 4-6 weeks
Botox ( done by qualified doctor)

    At home
    Usual defuzzing etc
    Make up every day
    SkinCeuticals anti aging serum
    Heels!
    Fake tan - sometimes.

    Interesting thread.

    Me?

Hair head - I have dyed natural hair. I made the decision that I'd never straighten my hair with chemicals again as it just didn't agree with me. I've stopped going to the hair dressers as my home care routine has done my hair wonders.

Hair armpits - I shave my armpits but I'm looking into another alternative as shaving aggravates my lymph nodes.

Hair legs - On my last trip to Barbados I got swollen legs because of the flight, the hairs have never grown back yay! :j

Eyebrows - Never plucked as they've always been shapely.

Make up - I usually only wear mascara, powder foundation and lipgloss/stick. But if I'm going out for the night I'll add eye shadow, blusher and eye liner.

Nails - varnish when I can be bothered.

Tan - Born with one baby!

I want to get my teeth whitened a shade but that's about it.

eyelash extensions are from eyelure and available in Boots or Superdrug for about £6, each set I do last about 10 days and ususally get 3 sets from a pack, they are a bit tricky at first but once you've got it you will never need mascara again:T, fake tan is an absolute essential for me and quality and Price cant be beaten from this site http://www.celebritysecrets.co.uk/SunlessTanningSolutions-4 hth :)

I've got some of these but find them really tricky to apply - what's your technique?

Normally find I lose a few over the night..

    Hi Princess Jane

They are fiddly, I hated them at first but then it just suddenly clicked, I pour some of the glue on to a piece of paper and leave for about a minute, starting from the outer edge I use long ones alternating eyes so they are even then a few medium ones then a couple of short ones, I stop about half way across the eye and I'm done. My tips are to let the glue go tacky first, work quickly and be quite generous with the glue, excess glue after drying can be covered with liquid liner (I use gosh waterproof) but you wont have much of this once you get the hang of it and don't use tweezers, they seem to make it much harder, I just pick them up with my fingers, I think perseverance is the key it took me over 30 mins at first now I can do a full set in 2 mins before I take my daughter to school:rotfl:If you loose them in the night I would try a bit more glue, mine don't budge until I pull them off or of course the official line would be until I remove them with the special remover provided;) hth.

I'm probably about middling, not too fake or too natural! :rotfl:

I get my eyebrows waxed (this is the only thing I go to a beautician for) and tint my brows and lashes brown at home
I shave my armpits and legs but this is just hygiene and comfort imho!
I wear light fake tan most of the summer (self application), I love it
I wear makeup most days at work and if I'm going out in the evening
I GHD my hair about once a week, usually for a night out or whatever, it's pretty straight anyway - the rest of the time I hardly even bother to dry it!
I get my hair cut about 2-3 times a year
About once a year, I'll give myself a home manicure and pedicure, am tempted to get it done professionally as it looks nice

My hair colour is my own, it's naturally long and blonde and probably my best feature (oh the modesty!) :D
My teeth are my own, I would love to get them whitened by the dentist but can't bear to spend the £300!!! Is it worth it?
I don't get my bikini line waxed, sounds ouch!!!!!!!!!
    I don't 'do' high heels

So there you go. Could do better probably!

I think I'm about medium fake, here is my list:

Hair dyed, it's naturally long and straight so I just tidy it up with ghds which only taked about 5 seconds
    Eyebrows plucked
Usual shaving and I'm using boots smooth skin on my underarms, will move on to bikini line once underarms are finished.
Lots and lots of fake tan ;)
Acrilyc nails - very long, people are usually a bit amazed by them, but they are clean underneath!
Make up - I usually just wear mascara in the day but I wear loads when I'm working, goes with the job.
