Splodz, how about everytime you want something to eat take a pint glass of cold water and drink it, tell yourself you can't eat untill you have finished the glass of water. It will help with the feeling full x

Sploz - I also have a bad relationship with food and tonight feeling very similar to how you are! It's really hard to deal with as I really want to eat even though I know I shouldn't and I'm feeling awful for not letting myself but if I do eat I will feel worse. I don't really know what can be done about it. People always say to eat smaller meals more regularly so that you eat 5 meals a day. It might help I guess as I just always end up snacking. Maybe keeping a food diary or something and drinking more. I read something on the BBC yesterday about soup being a good way to make you feel full rather than just drinking water as it stays in your stomach longer.

It's like I just wrote that! I'm so pleased I made some sense!! I know I shouldn't be eating junk or snacks or whatever and don't actually 'need' them, so I should be pleased when I don't, but instead I feel worse for not letting myself eat what I want.

Maybe I should try a food diary - that way I can see what I'm eating. Also not lying to OH about what I've eaten at work might help too! The thing is I really enjoy healthy food as well as other stuff so staying healthy shouldn't be that big a deal, but it is.

yeah thats true bm, it was a tv programme on slimming and says you feel fuller longer if you have soup rather than other things, i am now not eating any sugar and am hardly hungry, well between meals anyway lol

amazing how sugar affects you, i used to snack all the time, but i find if i eat chocolate or sugar then it doesnt take me long to go back to my old ways, weird

Yes exactly - and then I end up with no food left so go out and get rubbish for lunch at work etc. I can't buy multipacks of crisps as I have been known to eat them all at once.

So did you just stop eating sugar pp or gradually cut it out? Would help my skin too right? Maybe if I do something drastic like cutting out sugary food it would give me a kick start? Just treat myself if we go out or something?

I know what you mean ppd - last summer I tried to cut out my sugar (which meant not having any tea because I can only have it with sugar) and it made me feel much better. Started the day with hot water and lemon and then drank that throughout the day. Also made sure there was always fruit and yoghurt around. I've promised myself that I won't buy any more ice cream, crisps or chocolate once the lot I have as gone too as that way even if I want them and am being grumpy because I want them I can't have them as they're not there!

Also cutting down on carbs really helped me but I'm not doing that anymore as I love my pasta!

yes definitely make sure that you have what you want when you go out and don't feel bad about that otherwise you won't be happy. Not being able to enjoy yourself when you go out makes you feel awful (I went on a mega diet thing last summer as I was worried about going on holiday with OH's sisters... :o) That way you have something to look forward too as well.

I just cut out the sugar completely apart from the stuff naturally found in fruit and fruit juice etc..

I'd set yourself a deadline if you really want to get rid of all the sugary stuff - probably best to start on a Monday. Also try not to even buy it for your OH as it won't be easy if you have it in the house!

Sorry tell me to be quiet if you feel like I'm telling you what to do - it's not my intention though :o
