Hi, you've done so well so far - just look at how much you've reduced your debt and how many £2 coins you have saved (I can't even find 1)!!
I only joined the forum today and I'm totally inspired by everybody on this site. Now I have read lots of these postings I realise I'm not alone and I can get out of it too. Carry on the good work.£2 Saver Club (started 24th March '06) going towards No. 2 Son Cub trip!!

Hiya,
It can be long, hard, and monotonous getting out of debt and we've all had moments like that so don't worry you're not alone ((hugs)). Have a search on this board for other posts about losing motivation as there were quite a few good threads like this http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=160593Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
I think this is hard and don't worry we all feel like this I know I do. I have found the best way for me is to keep some of the things I liked to do. Getting my hair cut and coloured is very important to me - more important than using the money to pay off my debt, I had it done yeaterday for £85 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the result. What I am trying to say it feels great when we pay off a debt and see the balance going down but equally there are plenty of times when we feel the 'pain' during the month when we are debating the reasons we shouldn't be buying a cappucino from starbucks but waiting to get home and having an instant cup of coffee. Sometimes I need to balance the fact of getting the debt paid asap to 'living' too and if it takes me a couple of months more then so be it. I have discovered the fact it is very easy for me to work extra shifts at work and now regularly do this to earn money for treats - my haircut, the odd cappucino, a dvd, trip to the cinema. That way my debt payments stay the same and are not compromised and I feel I am really earning the treats.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

Hi purple princess big hugs
we all get like that i am afraid I too am totally unmotivated at the moment but i am totally unmotivated with everything and evryone I hate the world today oh and I have hated the world for the last week and a half I am either fighting the urge to cry or I am peeing myself laughing. think it may be due to the giving up smoking though ??? Have a bar of chocolate a bowl of ice cream and a glass of wine that should do the trick.0 -
That's how I feel marieb, also have not been feeling well and had to go for bloodtests today so that doesn't help. I have also given up smoking too!! 6 weeks now non-smoking.Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

Hi Purple Princess.
Sorry you are feeling so down .... I guess we all have days where we can't be bothered with saving money to pay off what we have already spent! You have done so well so far but you do need to make sure you have the odd treat for yourself or arrange something to look forward to.
I was thinking this morning that my OH and I haven't done anything this month that has involved socialising and spending money! I realised I need to be realistic and although I want to spend every penny on paying off my debt we do still need to have a life!
Your debt free day is only about 85 weeks away. It seems ages but it really isn't ... I agree with MarieB .. Chocolate is a good mood lifter!!

When I'm losing motivation I concentrate on the lil things! Like ya £2 savings and even the no spend week and been really good to keep me going!! I only really like it after pay day when I get to knock a hooge wedge (well to me!) off my debt! I like hutting out bargains and getting things for free (like my cinema tickets)!!! The freebie board is super and I love getting stuff through the post!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 092

Lots more sympathy here
I'm sat at work, contemplating running off early and going for a swim on my way home. Unfortunately the debt buster in me knows I should either stay and do some more work or go to the gym instead as that would be free. Its only £3.20 but everything turns into a moral dilema!
You should always treat yourself to something occasionally - happyness is more important than debt-free-ness, and when its possible to have both you should!
And reading the replies above, everyone is so nice here aren't they?!?

I think a quick look at your signature will help..........if you can see yourself clearing £7k in a year and a half or so, then just imagine what you will be able to do once you've reached your DFD.......savings, treats, holidays - anything will be possible, so grit your teeth and keep your head down - you'll be fine....... :jWARNING!Alcohol can make you think you are more interesting and attractive than you actually are.....0
