Stokegal, I love your Duck cake - but if you think it's too yellow, why dont you try a broad white ribbon around the bottom tier (not sheer) then it will tie in with the white muslin. You could edit the pic first and fill it in with white to get an idea of what it might look like!0

Wow!!!! This thread is going great guns today!
Love the pink t-shirt carlymummy, and love the little cutey wearing it!
Louby_lou_lou - I wouldn't normally put as much in a basket but I got a great deal on everything in it. 3 piece padded outfits from M&S for £3 (was £15) Got 3 of them. Dummies, Bottle,Forever Friends Teddy, were all really cheap in the sales.
I must say though, I didn't really enjoy making it but I've got a few more to go yet. Don't think I'll be buying more!0 -

Thanks Moonpenny - the cutie is my devil child - he's free to a good home if anyone is interested
I've just had a call from the woman who will be displaying my cakes - saying that she has cleared a load of her stock today so she's got lots of space for me -:eek:
Well after Primark-gate earlier - I went there and found... nothing. I did however find that Poundland have introduced some Humphrey's Corner items, weaning spoons, brush and comb sets, etc0 -
Well what can I say ........ you've all been so busy, lovely to see so many fab cakes and baskets :T:T:T
I've been asked to make a cake for a little girl who's just over 6 months .... would size 3 nappies be OK ???A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Love the cake StokeGal and the basket Moonpenny.
I'm actually steering away from clothes in the cakes as want to put more into the main ingredients and feel that having 1 odd sleepsuit and 1 bodysuit etc won't be missed. However until now I have just been using John Lewis clothes or Boots Minimode (these were great at xmas, 3 for 2 and bought on the shopping evenings where they were giving loads of extra points!). I wouldn't use supermarket clothes mainly because I wanted to offer something different to the norm. I would however never use or shop at Primark because of the reputation for child slave labour they use and I think that's something I would want my baby cakes to completely disassociate from.0 -
Regarding the whole Primark/Supermarket clothing thang. I can completely understand people not wanting to use these brands if you sell as a business. However, if like me you do Nappy Cakes as hobby, then using places like Matalan, Asda, etc is the only viable option imo to keep costs low. (esp if you are like me and don't have any BM's, Primarks, Home Bargains, etc) A lot of People who have had cakes made by me have have always been completely over the moon with their item and have ordered more and more...and I'm talking the recipents of the gifts!! I have never have to advertise as word of mouth has spread like wild fire and to be honest, I have been so busy lately, I am thinking of setting up properly.
I think if I do go into selling as a business, then I would look into using brands that weren't retailers own...iykwim.
That said, I do have a luxury cake option which contains only boutique clothing and premium branded toiletries and toys. All comes at a price and I don't sell many!!!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -

Hi,
I might go with size 4 to be on the safe side, my son was in size 4 at about 6 months.
Does anyone know of any wholesalers near bristol?
Thanks

I want to have a wee play but tidying my craft room is a priority cos i have no work surface left!
Hiya,
I like your box, but just to give you another idea this is how i wrap mine. I use a 5" cake board from ebay. I also use paper cases which brings the cost down. I sell mine at £4.50.
HTH Jo
P.S the cost of your flowers is much cheaper than mine from hobbycraft!!0
