Angelkay - love your bouquets......I have bought the boxes but have not got round to making any yet. Can I ask what you put in the bouquets ie. quantities?

CandyB101 - Love your cake......how much have you put in it?

carlymummy - the only place I have seen cheap bunches of flowers was Poundland

I am struggling big time for blankets just now. Searched in town and I could only find cream in Matalan and the really fluffy ones in Primark which I don't like:o Any suggestions? Really looking for Piglet or a plain pink one.

Thanks :) I'm using vases just now as I only bought enough flowers to make 2 of each colour, where did u buy your boxes from if u don't mindme asking, in my bouquets I put 2 washcloths,2 vests, 3 pairs of socks and a bib. I did put a dummy in the pink one but didn't like it and I think I also put a pair of scratch mits
have u tried dunelm mill for blankets? My pal is the manager there and she had loads in she filled up a huge basket at the end of the baby bedding aisle if u ask they may still have some in the warehouse if they don't have the colours u want on display, I stocked up not that long ago and bought 30 they are 1.99 each and are nice n thick with cute embroidered designs on
also have u been into Ethel austins beside instore and it's in the same shop as au natural? They have washcloths 6 for £1 and bibs at £3 for 10 White terry overhead ones and packs of mini ducks and boats at 3 for £1 oh n baby bottle 2 for £1 might be wirth s look they had hooded towels too but I never looked at the price

Angelkay, I think your bouquets are gorgeous! I particularly like the pink one. I really don’t think you need to touch them but just one point – maybe a bit more greenery! Having said that, I haven’t attempted any, so what do I know! LOL!

Europa – I haven’t made washcloth lollipops but have made them with socks, which was really tricky because of the heel bit. I folded them in half lengthways (which would be a bit thicker than rolled washcloths) and then rolled them like a swiss roll. I used 2 different colour socks – one on top of other. Then I sellotaped around the roll to hold together then attached “barbeque stick to back with sellotape. Then covered with cello and a bow.

Irishgirl, I am not sure what to suggest! Maybe you haven’t packed the nappies tight enough and same for blankets. Are they a bit loose? Have you got the blanket the same width all the way around? It looks higher in places. Good first attempt though!

Wow!!! CandyB, You really went to town on your fab cake. Don’t know how you managed to fit it all in! Your sisters friend will be well pleased!

Not seen any Piglet blankets I’m afraid Irlrip. The only pink ones I’ve seen are the £3 fleece ones in Asda (with teddy on)
The only other place is Home Bargains £3. I have used quite a few of these. They are furry but shorter pile than the Primark ones.

do you know where instore is that used to be a big poundstretchers in woodside on great northern road, next door theres au naturale - well aunaturale now shares its shop so its half ethel austin and half au naturale the baby stuff is on the right hand side as you go in. i stood looking ages at it before i saw the washcloths as they were tucked right in at the bottom underneath o load other stuff that was hanging over the top of them so make sure you have a good look. i need to go back n get some more stuff but its def worth a look esp seeing as poundland is so hit n miss :)

Well my cheap towel bales arrived today so thought I would have a quick practice making a towel cake 3 tier using the 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 face cloths. It went together really easily and quickly but I am not happy with the ends of the towels I rolled them neatly but they look too bulky I pinned with safety pins and then wrappd wide ribbon around to cover the pins. It looks wrong? Any advice ladies please would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Have my made my first nappy cake for the mum of a little girl I look after - she's due end September. it looks a little lop sided in the photo - but isn't in real life. Really enjoyed making it - so a big thanks for the inspiration!

I just finished one, the secret ( i think anyway) is in the rolling of the towels. I roll one then wrap the next one round that, it seems to make a neater end. Hope that helps
