My friend put me in touch with this forum and i'm so glad she did!! The towel cakes above look fantastic! Hoping I could get some info from like-minded makers :-)
I've just started making nappy cakes for friends & family, they're very unproffessional compared to pics on here but I'd really like to start taking it more seriously, but to do so I need to get them looking top notch :-)
I make my 2 tier cakes using: foil tray base, around 40 nappies, fleece blanket to wrap bottom tier, ribbon to wrap top tier, 3 wash products, teddy blanket all wrapped in cellophane wrap, total usually comes to around £13.50-£16 & I charge £25.
I'd like to hear what other people use to make their cakes, how much it costs and how much they charge for them. Just so I can get a scope of where I could save money/any tricks im missing out on/could be charging etc etc.. anyone willing to divulge this information would be wonderfully helpful!!

redbull08, Not very good pic but the back of my cakes. Blue is a Towel and Pink is a Blanket (I do them different) I tend to make quite plain cakes with the stuff inside.

The boards are just the silver cake boards you can buy in the supermarket but I get the thinner ones online as they are cheaper.

Marris, I tend to fold all my Blankets and Towels corner to corner instead of straight across

I'm still in hospital (came in early August) but felt up to start making my first cake last night, working on it slowly.once I've done this one I have thumper one to make, I brought the stuff ages ago, it's so cute! I can't remember how much I paid for the outfit though, does anyone have an idea of roughly how much they tend to be, it's a beautiful top with boy leggings/bottoms set from Disney store.
