Its a lovely cake, I really like the knitted cup cake and Pixie.
Is it a gift for somone or are you planning to sell them?
If its to sell it may be better to use a good brand of nappies rather than the cheaper ones. Hope you dont mind me saying but I know if I was to receive on thats what i would like x
Looking forward to new ventures
  • no thats fab thank you its for my mil friend and they are going with cloth nappies hence the cheapies just incase. I would like to sell them as really enjoyed doing it but have no idea what sort of prices/mark up they would be. Defo get your point about the nappies though and would use branded if selling also does it look neat enough some ive seen on here look so tight and neat felt mine looked a little loose if you know what I mean. Thanks for taking the time to look and reply though x

I have been thinking of running a nappy cake training day up here in Nottinghamshire as I have been asked a few times if I do them, the day course would include trade secrets, info on wholesale lists, info on HMRC, trading standards, liability insurance, webite and SEO info along with social networking for businesses, items to make a 3 tier nappy cake (worth £50) to take home and with lunch included, I would be not only teaching how to make nappy cakes and other things but I would also be focusing on starting your own business with info on available grants and finacial backing that can be available for start-up businesses etc so it would be quite a comprehensive course by the time I put it all together.
I have not definitely decided to do it yet, but am thinking about it. Suppose it would be a nice day out for ladies who really want to know the ropes and who are thinking about setting up their own business from home. There is only one company doing this sort of thing at the moment and they charge £195 per student for the day, I wouldn't charge anywhere near that. Just after feedback at the moment though guy's, eg: what would you pay for a course like this? etc.... Thanks :T
  • Its sounds like a good idea although I think its defo over priced by the other company you mention. I also think a whole day including lunch is too long in my opinion as Nappy Cakes is something I want to do to fit around the kids a whole day to learn trade secrets as you put it seems a bit over kill as the HMRC, wholesalers, trading standards etc can all be done in a booklet for people to take away to refer back to rather than taught and maybe just have a 30min session for anyone to ask any questions they want on those subjects. As for the making of a 3 tier cake its a fab idea and id happily pay £50 for a morning of learning and a booklet on all the previous info maybe you shouldnt supply the items though and simply list what people need to bring that way they can buy to their budget rather than having to pay extra for the course if you see my point.
