  • I agree with everything you say Janey, I now wont touch soft toys unless they say 'suitable from birth' but they can be so hard to find especially when you don't have the turnover for wholesale.

After saying I was unsure about the hike the likes etc. I joined a silent tagging because I just couldn't get off 550, whenever I gained any I lost someone. Plus I found some lovely pages so I take back my words ha ha! I would agree 100 % that you have to work at your page. I have left mine for 6 months, just checking it every now and then and posting pictures but since I have gotten back into it I've suddenly got really busy again. I'd say repost pictures of your favourites, involve your likers with open status updates, remind likers what you've got ready to go as some literally want stuff at the drop of a hat which isn't always possible whereas some give you months and months notice! But don't be too annoying because I unlike pages that update too much so I'm sure others do too. Find local selling pages to advertise on and offer free delivery especially in the area if it's someone where you're likely to go anyway it wont really cost you.

The fair I did nearly 3 weeks ago has now generated 4 orders - I'm so pleased, makes up for last weekends being a bit of a struggle.

    Hi
You've got the right attitude, if you left your page for 6 months even if people have clicked on it, it is unlikely that they would order because they would have seen the last date you wrote on your profile, you don't have to unlike pages just hide their status updates if they keep popping up.
Well done for getting orders from your craft fair.
    Janey :)

    YAY!

If you look online there should be weight guides. I've used Royal Mail and myHermes. Someone said you can fit a 2 tier in a Pampers box or just ask in shops.

I did update but not very often so it probably slipped of peoples newsfeeds. It's more the constant photos that annoy me, if it's a page I really like I wont ditch them.

I've gotten super busy I don't know what's going on but it just goes to show if you put the effort in with fairs, FB pages it does work

  • Hi!

Thanks for your reply cupcake queen!

It is for one of these cakes:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/76719769@N02/6981809721/

The quote was £7.80 inc VAT from Yodel through parcel2go. Is this reasonable? Seems rather alot. Its 48hr delivery too from monday to wednesday. So this is what I have quoted the lady :/

I have got some boxes from the supermarket just in case (should have done this before anyway!) Can you put 2 boxes together to make one bigger box as well? and is there anywhere i can get this way up tape fast? XXXX

I estimated the weight as no more than 3kg? How do you find out the weight at home by the way? plus room for the cello wrapping etc X There are approx 22 nappies and the height i measured as 50cm to allow for cello and 30cm width.

Thanks Zangel, it wasnt from a fair it was through FB :) Even thought they haven't got back to me I think it is promising judging by how my page is growing :) At last!

At least I am prepared for orders to be delivered now! Zangel, have you been on hike those likes on FB? It worked wonders for me yesterday.

  • I've worked out it will cost me me £6.99 including packaging with myHermes but that isn't 48 hour, that's 3-5 days. That was weighing a 3 tier on the kitchen scales.
