  • Your right to do that zangel, I think I am definately one to buy something smaller I'm a bit of a scrimper myself :) I am also ordering some single boxes similar if I can so I can have a go at decorating them again. I will definately be posting pics as soon as I am allowed on here! Re the bouquets yes you use florist wire and florist tape on the clothes..... I am also waiting for these along with some wooden roses to have a go at making a complete bouquet. Oh and tissue paper. Still trying to work out how people put those tiny flowers on the tip of the cupcakes. Can't be glued surely? Its the only thing throwing me now lol :)

I wondered if the tape left marks and if the wire was seen as a risk? With the flowers once the sock is rolled it leaves a little gap at the tip of the cake and I just stuffed mine into the gap. The ladies one's I have done worked best as they are the heighjt of the box so the lid helps keep it in place. Im not sure if others stick them on some how? i suppose you could put a stitch in to hold it.
Looking forward to new ventures

They look beautiful Janey. i used a pair in each case as I couldnt get the shape with one sock. I suppose it comes with experience.
Do you put what the socks are made of on or in the box?

  • Thanks will try that zangel :) suppose I was wondering how they stayed on if the box was bashed about a little.....but I will see what you mean I'm sure when the boxes arrive :) janey beautiful box I have some of that organza ribbon on order as well it goes well for anything x
  • Janey I see you have a made a lovely towel pamper cake there, I have also been practising these, I wondered if there was more insurance needed to make and sell these? As they are made of skin/bath products what would happen if someones skin was irritated for instance?

    Hi Sarah
you need public liability insurance if you are selling anything handmade to the general pubic but you don't make those products do you? all products used in my pamper cakes have their own ingredients listed on the packaging/bottle/tube or whatever I am using so you don't need more or extra insurance for these products ... Janey x ;)

Thank you, the socks are quite thick so one sock for each muffin case is enough 2 wouldn't look right, I use muffin trays for these boxes. No, I don't put what the socks are made of, I use either M & S or Sainsburys, both are excellent quality.... Janey x :)
  • Thankyou Janey no i dont make the soaps etc myself the ingredients like you say would be listed on the bottle, thats good to know there is no extra insurance needed for this on top of the nappy cakes, high on my list of worries is what if something happened once a gift had been given out so its on my mind alot you see.....not helped by the baby brains at the minute either with a toddler and a 16 week old in the house! Thanks for the advice really appreciated x
