  • Hi all

I started up in business (well trying to) in September. I have a website, which needs more products putting on, and I have been doing quite a few christmas fairs. I have sold mainly the small sock cupcakes and feeding sundaes - not loads, but an amount I am pleased with. Other then that I have sold two actual nappy cakes at fairs and 3 via friends. I have had no orders via my website, and I am beginning to think that craft fairs arent really the right outlet for my nappy cakes. I get loads of lovely comments. People always stop and have a look and say they are amazing etc, which is great but a few more sales would be good. Lots of people take leaflets. But mainly say they'll keep me in mind for when they know someone who is pregnant.

I suppose I am just feeling a bit disheartened. I havent been able to put as much time into the business as I would like due to working moer hours and generally being busy with family and christmas!

Just wondering how you all manage to get sales, are you in shops? Do you do craft fairs? Do you have a website?

Sorry for moaning, just I have been wanting to do this for such a long time and I dont want to fail

    Thank

    Sharon

  • Wasnt sure if I was allowed to do that - www.sweetcheeksnappycakes.com I know there are not many on there at the minute, wanting to change that after the new year

It was really to find out if people seel at craft fairs or not, are they the the right out let for nappy cakes? I'm not sure whether to try and musta up the confidence to appraoch independent shops??

    Thanks
  • Been asked to make a mint or lemon nappy cake but I am struggling to find and bit any ideas on the best places to buy

Hi lizalloareds, Just wondering how you got on with your cake! Did you manage to find anything?

Couldn't think of a single place where you could buy a yellow / Mint Blanket.
If you are really stuck, you could use cream and dress it up with Mint or yellow coloured ribbons.
  • Hi Moonpenny

managed to get a lemon towel and did the rest with white

    thanks

    Hello there,

I went to Sainsburys today and they have some lovely striped blankets for baby boy from 10 down to 3 and newborn sets with hat, bib, onesie etc for 4.20 down from 14. With 15% staff discount made an absolute bargain for a nappy cake so got 2 pink and 2 blue sets.

    Hope that helps someone.
