Thanks for all the kind comments on my nappy cake. I've tinkered a little more with it (added ribbon and tiny bows with flowers to the bottom tier; sock flowers to the middle tier; and a pink bow around the teddy's neck to attach him to a wooden spoon).
The only reason it's so neat for a first attempt is because I've been reading all of your tips!! So thanks again for that. :D
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Hi Candy, I hope it goes well. If your daughters under 18 is there anything we (www.postpals.co.uk) can do to help? We send cards, letters and gifts to seriously ill children and extra treats when possible. Theres a video about us here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l42sKtdPXrw or an article here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/3673782.stm

Take care and I hope it goes well

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
Mia has been such a brave little girl. The tumour has been removed and luckily no muscle transplant or skin graft was required. She has done so well that they allowed us to come home last night, so nice to be back in my own bed! She's definately feeling much better, giving out her orders :rotfl:

  • Hi all, I keep looking at this thead and keep thinking about attempting one (as I am a crafty person) I have a friend that is due in Oct and she is the sort of person that would appriciate one but how much do you find they cost? I would shop around well. I have a son so I know where get quality stuff at good prices but I just wondered how much you find these cakes tend to cost?
I usually only tend to spend around £10 - £15 on friends that have just had babies (cos they are all having them at the mo!!) could I do a decent cake for this??
