Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
Mia has been such a brave little girl. The tumour has been removed and luckily no muscle transplant or skin graft was required. She has done so well that they allowed us to come home last night, so nice to be back in my own bed! She's definately feeling much better, giving out her orders :rotfl:

I am so glad to hear that Mia is home and doing well.

    {{{{HUGS}}}} to you both.

You have all inspired me to make my 1st nappy cake for my Neice who is due to have her 2nd baby in the next couple of weeks.

I was amazed how quickly I could put the cake together. The only problem I have is that I was daft enough to buy size 1 nappies so have used nearly 60 nappies and only ended up with 2 tiers. :o

I need to make another tier as the toy I have for the top is too small for the size of the smallest tier at present. Rather than buy even more nappies, has anyone any ideas on what to make a small tier out of?

For a size 1 nappy cake start off with 7 as your middle then work the nappies around it. I have just finished a 3 tier cake in size 1 nappies and only used approx 50, I do have other bits inside it but even so I could have used 60 for the whole cake easily.

Can you try and rework it? Failing that if you have toiletries then add some of them as the centre of your bottom tier and work the nappies around it all.

My LO is just over 11 months and in size 4. I think size 2 would be too small! HTH

    Please can someone help.

I am planning on doing a nappy cake for a family baby at Christmas but in the meantime (baby due September) I would love to do a sock bouquet and a new dad tool belt.

Problem is I cannot find anything on the new dad toolbelt :( Are there any links or pictures I could use as reference ??

    Hi everyone
I am new to this, I actually make wedding/party favours etc and have an online/local fairtrade accessories business too. I recently had a request from a lay that works with my mum for a hamper for her grandson due September I think. At first I wasn't sure as I have a new baby myself and hadn't done anything like it before, anyway thanks to all you lovely ladies you gave me the inspiration to have a go at making a nappy cake after speaking with the lady that ordered it she was happy for me to make one and wasn't bothered what went into it she gave me a budget of £45. So anyway had a go I will try and post a pic now, please be gentle with me and let me know what you all think.
    Thanks
    Carly

won't let me pot pics as a newbie will try again soon!
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys! :D
