    Thanks lizalloareds,

I love the blankets too but they were last years i'm afraid.

They were from Tesco. I'm not sure if they were £5 but I hit lucky and got them at sale prices. Got a gorgeous duck one the same time which I havn't used yet - wish I had got more!

I already had the dog toys so I got enough blankets for them.

Whenever I see anything (usually too dear) I keep my eye on them for ages to see if they come down in price before I buy. Sometimes it works, but sometimes they have none left when I really wanted them. You win some, you lose some!

Wow! those cakes were expensive. Were they especially good? Did you get the name? Wouldn't mind having a nosey if they have a website.

  • Hi All

Hope you don,t mind me joining this thread. After spending the last week reading almost every page on these threads I decided to make a nappy cake for a friends son. Its harder than it looks!!! Had a production line going today with my 2 daughters and we made a nappy cake and also a couple of sock cupcakes.

A friend of mine came today and saw what I had made and has offered to put some in his shop for me. (Hairdressers) and I laughed and said no one would buy them lol, but he seems to think they will, so I am going to have a play.
In TJ's they have alot of baby sock 3 pairs for 99p if that's any good to anyone, then an extra 20% off.

My brother has offered to do me a website so I said, why not, its only £10 a year and at least now I have a "name" and hes offered to design my logo, tags and cards etc.

I spent a lovely weekend shopping for baby stuff with my mum for this and got very broody looking, but too old to have another, plus my kids would kill me lol.

Everyones cakes are FAB so thankyou for sharing. Hope to be posting more in the future.

I think the first one seems expensive but the second one is using quality branded products so the cost will be higher. I sell mine for £55 because I also use branded and licensed products, You can't really compare them to the majority that are using supermarket or pound shop items. There's nothing wrong with these by the way just that obviously if you use more expensive ingredients then your final sale price should be more.
  • Very true becs!

I'd love to make one (am very crafty!) however I don't know anyone other than myself that is pregnant!

Hi I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies who sell your cakes would please be able to help me. I have been making baby cakes for friends and family for about 6 months and really enjoy making them plus I get great feedback from everyone who has received them and so I was thinking about maybe trying to sell some. However I dont know the first thing about business or the legalities of something like this so I was hoping someone may be able to pass on some advice - for example do I need to register as a business? pay tax? etc and are there any restrictions against selling the cakes, I use branded nappies and toiletries and then clothes I have bought from supermarkets or high street stores, is it ok to buy these and sell them on? I would really appreciate any help that anyone can provide - thanks in advance

  • Just spotted packs of 4 Ellie and Raff washcloths for £1 on halfcost which I thought may be on interest to Nappycake bakers...
