    Your welcome.

Have you all seen the lovely fleece blankets in Dunelm mills? £2.50 each but they are lovely. The design is just the right size for when folding the blanket too.
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
  • Hi all. Have been busy reading through all your posts and looking at all your pics and I love all your work.
I have made a few nappy cakes for friends and family and they have all had fantastic comments so am thinking of starting a small business selling them along with other things, such as towel cakes, pamper cakes etc, but need some help as I just don't know where to start.
What do I need to do? (legally)
Where do you all source your items, nappies, blankets etc so you make a profit from them?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you tell me what colours the blankets are and if they have any pics on. I don't have a Dunelm Mill near me - are they on the website? Have had a look but can't find anything.

Yes they all have pictures on but they are the right size and placement to work with how they want folding. There is a pink with a butterfly on, a checked pink, a blue with a giraffe, a checked blue with a choo choo train, a lemon one and a very pale cream. Sorry but I cannot remember all the pictures. I will have a look on the website and if I can find them I will post a link.

Hi chinesedeli, Wow! that will be some cake! You will have to get a bigger board for the bottom bit.

I use large elastic bands I got from a stationers. They are just thin ones (yellow) but I have never had to buy any more.
When I have got the nappies how I want, I put a band round to hold and then I tie curling ribbon around and remove the band.

Folding Blankets can be quite hard. They are easier if they are square but most are oblong. You also have to think about any motif on the blanket, if it will look right.
For hooded blankets/ towels, lay it on the bed in a diamond shape (pointed motif / hood end nearest you) The motif / hood should be underneath.
Start turning over "nappy height" sections from the top corner working towards you (Hood) It should work so the final turn will be the hood.
You might have to undo and redo several times at different widths to get it right.
I then put a few pins to hold while I wrap it round the cake. Make sure you count the pins so they are all removed.
There is no easy way of folding oblong ones. I do it the same way but start off turning off centre. You could also fold the length of the blanket and wrap and tie at the front with a ribbon. This is best done off centre but it does make for quite a bit of bulk at the front.
