    Hi

Does any1 have any good links to show me how to do the swirling method please? What method do most people use, I have rolled mt 1st cake but I think I have done it too tight and so used lots of nappies (not cost effective LOL)
Check out page 142 of this thread, Becs did a good discription with pictures, it certianly helped me x

    Hi

I quickly swirled the top 2 layers of a cake but I am now stuck as to how many nappies to use for swirling the bottom layer. Also I'm not sure if I have used enough nappies, the top layer used 9 nappies, the middle layer I used 13 is this enough/not enough. Sorry to be a pain and keep asking ? Oh heck must dash nursery pick up time I got carried away with nappies LOL

I usually have about 18 on the bottom, 10 on the middle and 6 on the top but it varies depending on how even it is, what's inside and what you're covering them with if you're covering the layers, a fleecey blanket will bulk out a layer where as a muslin won't. Hope that helps :)

Well I had a proper go last nite using the swirling method I must say I am very impressed with it even my OH said it looked good and I should sell it!! He never usually shows an interest in anything I make, I think he gets fed up with the dining room looking like a craft shop :rotfl:

I am now hooked on the nappy cakes and am going shopping 2day to see what bits I can get to add to my cakes!

I am very intersted in how/where people sell their cakes, website/facebook or is word of mouth the best way to go

I like the swirled look, but unlike what others have said on here I tend to find it uses more nappies, does anyone else find that?

My neighbour came around yesterday to ask if I would be able to do a cake by the weekend, luckily it was a boys one and i had one 3/4 done, its my last tigger cake which has been my best seller-I hate it when shops keep changing what they sell! This is the first tigger one i made

May marks a year since i started doing them, thank you to everyone on here who encouraged me to give it a go, I never believed anyone would buy one of them (my ones that is, not all your amazing ones) but am so pleased with how the past year has gone :)
