Snookles, Your cake is fabulous and incredible that it's your first attempt. I think it's lovely. The only thing I would say about the ribbons is that they perhaps don't look balanced? They're quite narrow on your tiers which are quite deep. You could try a wider ribbon underneath it? I use the florists polysatin ribbon in a complementing colour as it's really cheap but is about 4" so does suit cakes where the tiers are a good height.

Thank you so much for your advice Becs. I'm actually waiting for some florist ribbon to arrive that i ordered last week. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow so i can get cracking. I'll post a pic when i'm finished..

I've enjoyed looking at everyones cakes as ever

I don't know when i last posted photos, my latest cake was a 1st birthday one which i hadnt done before and was a bit nervous as to how to do it. I've made very little on it as it had a £30 budget and the nappies alone were £0.16 each before the tshirts which weren't cheep. Anyway,



It has;
24 size 4 Pampers,
Pink soft blanket
1 white tshirt with a bunny, flowers and text about summer
1 pink tshirt with little floral pattern
socks made into roses
1 quality street for a quality mum
1 hamleys poodle

I thought I would add somepictures from the open day I attended at the weekend, I gave out a few leaflets but didnt make any sales on the day but fingers crossed.
