I found some lovely white/blue dog's today in Poundstretcher ... only realised at the last minute it said on the scarf 'baby's 1st christmas' .... how embarresing would that of been :rotfl:

Could you take the scarves off and replace with ribbon. I've done this on a few toys and (depending how they are stitched on) you wouldn't know.

I bought 50 Christmas Teddies and Dogs in the Wilkinsons 75% off sale - I removed the scarves and hats by cutting the sewing threads, then tied a ribbon round their necks. I now have 50 brown or white teddies and dogs that cost 25p each! I'm keeping the hats as I hope to turn them into tree decorations by stuffing them with a bit of wadding and sewing the bottom. I haven't thought of a use for the scarves yet, but kept them in case I think of something. I haven't done them all yet, in case I need some next Christmas!

Tesco has a 25% off clothing sale this weekend (I believe it lasts until the end of Bank Holiday Monday) so I've just got some sleepsuits, bodysuits and baby hats for my second cake (not needed until Sept but why not save 25% on ingredients?). Hope this helps someone.

Can anyone give me any advice of transporting cakes please? I am doing my first proper event tomorrow and want them to get there in one piece. I took a 4 along to something the other day and used the big blue bags from tescos which was ok. Don't want to box them all as I don't think they'll fit in the car! What do other people do please?
