    Kate - Lovely cakes:T

I know it has been asked before but I have gone through loads of posts and can't find the answer:o I have up until now only sold through collection from my home or local delivery but now I have someone wanting one posted.

I do not want to go the expenses of buying boxes, packing etc. but on the other hand I do not want to turn the sales down. So I can come up with a box and packaging but what is the best way to send ie. Post Office.

It also concerns me that the cake/cellophane will not get there intact. I know it must because of lots of you send in the post so what do you use to package up the cake?

What is the rough cost of sending a single tier cake?

    Sorry for all the questions:p

  • Oh forgot to say that I also got this flower (99p) Thought I might try it on a 3 tier to hold it all together as well as being a nice 'topper'

    Hi Irlip

That's a lovely cake, very nice.

I have a few orders too for Easter cakes, hoping to get them done this weekend.

I've posted a few cakes in boxes (boxes which I ordered from Ebay) and some were 3 tier ones, some were 2 tier.

I just wrap them in cellophane and ribbon as normal and find that this keeps them in place, once inside the box.

I sent mine first class signed for, and the cost was about £10, as they were big and needed to be sent parcel post.

    Hope this helps,

    Sal
