hiya... i think it's about time i introduce myself!
about a week ago i decided to make a nappy cake for my boyfriends boss whose wife is expecting! I wasn't really sure where to start... googled nappy cakes and an old thread came up on here about them. I read to about page 200 but it wasn't very relevent as it was from 2 years ago so i searched and found this new one:D and was reading it last night!

it's annoying because the asda george sale apparently starts today and the day before yesterday i went in and bought some bits! ha just my luck..

as it's easter atm i found a few ducks and sheeps like neutral toys but my boyfriends boss is expecting a girl! anyone know where i can buy a nice pink toy? cheap? :D lol

    thanks xxx

I had to go to hospital with my daughter so hadn't time for anything But on friday i've sold the 6 ordered cakes to the shop and she was amazed how it looks "live" Now she want's to see 1 for Easter and 1 for Christening
I have 2 new orders for my friends on Thursday so have to go shopping again as I don't have Primark blankets...

Chazsucks - if you have PundStrecher they have lovely big soft dogs in blue pink and cream (more like yellow)

Just had a call to say I'm not allowed to attend the ONLY craft fayre in the area as my gifts arn't classed as home made!! She said 'we only sell complete home made local crafts, you should try a baby fayre!'

    Im heartbroken :(

Can you tell me what nappies you all use please? Are there any completely plain ones about? I've been using Pampers but the decorations on them seems to spoil the overall effect of the cake.

If selling via website or at craft fairs i would say use a brand name and not a shpos own brand of nappies sorry but im not a snob or anything but i have been selling nappy cakes for a long time and i find a lot of people dont like to buy something thats using the shops own brand of nappies. When i say things like this it sometimes kicks off on here but thats the feedback i get hope this is of some help

Giggle, I agree. I've had a number of people check that I use 'branded' nappies before buying my cakes. People can be snobbish about that sort of thing and I've found that they won't give others 'cheap' nappies (however, as a parent, I always found that they can be just as good!)
