Vikki, When I use blankets I fold them to the thickness of a Nappy then wrap it round and put ribbon round to keep it there, thats the only way I know how to! Unless anyway has any advice on them too. I normally use Wash Cloths from E.Austins which you get in a pack of 6 for £1 so I just use a few of those and they look nice.

Thanks Giggle, I'll have a look back and see if it helps me, I always end up with loads at the back which is annoying.

Moonpenny - Thanks for the advice on the toys, I normally use the comfort blankets at the top of a 3 tier but have yet to try a single and double tier and I need normal teddies for them so I will have to keep my eyes open and search for them.

Irlrip - Hope you had a great holiday, What was the weather like? I went in September and had a brilliant time!! Can't wait to go back.

I also received my business cards now so just need to sort out putting them in the cakes, I think I will put them on the cake boards inside so once they dismantle the cake it is there.

Thanks for info on M & S toys Rusty! There is an outlet near my local town. Will make a trip when snow has cleared. (That's if it ever does!)

Irlrip - hope you enjoyed your trip! I am on the hunt for blanket fabric at the moment so I think I would have come back with loads of the "Minky" fabric from US. There is some lovely stuff on US sites but hardly anything in this country.
What sort of things did you buy for your cakes?

Poppy 105 - It was our first trip at this time of year and although we had warm days we also had cold days and it was the busiest we have ever seen it.

Moonpenny - I did not buy a lot. 4 sets clothes (2 boys/2 girls with matching soft toys), a few soft toys and a few bibs. To be honest they were not much cheaper than here, just different. oh and some ribbon.

Do you make your own blankets? Ive not heard of minky before.

M&S had £4 bears on their website in the sales, I think they were down from about £8

this is my latest cake, its packed with gifts on the inside (Ive never made one with so much stuff in) but I managedto get some stuff in the sale so could get it in on budget

I also brought a new big roll of cello on ebay, its a lot taller than the ones from flower hour as I found it hard to wrap 3 tiers with enough at the top for a big bow that didnt distract from the cake

vikkie_louise lovely cake! I wish they would lower price of the blankies you used, I love them.

I havn't made any blankets but am thinking of doing just that. I used to do a lot of sewing years ago and said I wouldn't get into it again but am a bit fed up of whats available for the price. Mind you! it would probably cost more to make them - with time etc.
Minky is the US term for the silky fabric that they use for blankets. A lot of the girls on here a while back used the "bobbly" blankets. Thats "Minky". Forgot what its called here!

Irlrip, I have never been to US but having looked at their cakes and baby things online, they seem to be a lot more colourful than ours.

I cleared the shelf needless to say! HTH in the endless search for toys!
