    Hello :)

I have made two nappy cakes before this one and I have posted them on here previously. However, as I made another yesterday (albeit quite quickly) I thought I would share this one too. :)
I made this for a friend at work who's son is going to have a baby soon. However, as I don't know her son (and I don't have much money) I decided to do a "mini"/"value" nappy cake, which is quite different to the other two I have done before.
It isn't great compared to all of your cakes (but on the brightside, the total cost was only £7). I just wanted to know what you thought of it, plus it is MSE and I thought £7 was a bit of a bargain. :o

    1x Cuddly Lion (50p)
1x Dummy (£1.12) [I know slightly expensive for a dummy, but it was a lion, so I couldn't resist matching it with the toy on top!] :)
    1x Gold Cake Board (32p)
    2x Face Towel > (2x Face, 2x Hand, 2x Bath towels = £2)
    2x Hand Towel >
    27x Huggies Newborn Nappies (£3)

Happy new year to you all! Hope everyone has had a fantastic Christmas etc although now seems like a lifetime away!

I wasn't around much over the last month or so as been sooo busy with craft fairs etc and of course festive stuff.

My new years resolution is to do this as a successful business (Well I'd like to but we'll see!!) I am trying to book fairs etc to try and sell must be more proactive doing it!

Have already had my first order of the year from website so woohoo!! She wanted a cake in bright colours but it was a complete nightmare trying to get orange ribbon! My local places werent open between Christmas and New year when she needed it so opted for floristry ribbon as it was all I could find - couldnt believe it was so cheap in comparison so thats the way forward for me!

Anyway real reason I came on was to say that I had a flyer through the door today for Lidl - as of tomorrow they have the large packs of pampers nappies 64 ish in a pack for £8.88 or 2 packs for £10

Brudie - do you know what sizes the nappies are? Lidl is about 30 miles away from me now so it'd have to be worth my while to go there.

Thanks, may just venture there for size 3's.
  • Hiya,

Sorry for lack of posting, i think december was my busiest month yet, i had lots of orders for my smaller gifts & quite a few cakes. I also had to make a towel cake for a friends wedding, i think this year was the first that i have ever been wrapping on xmas eve!
At the moment i'm trying to make up enough stock so i can have a couple of months maternity leave (i'm due with my second @ the end of April). I've also managed to move all my stock from the spare room in to the tiny understairs cupboard, only problem is i still have all the rest of the stuff to re-home LOL

NEway, fab cakes been posted recently here are a few of mine:

  • onetreehill- I can't believe you put that together for £7! Where did you get the towels from?

JoJo- i love the cakes, the coloured one is different from the usual pastles (although I find myself feeling a little jelous when ever any of you post a pic with an elly on top ;)). Is the blue spotty blanket the one that poundland does?

Thanks for the tip about the pampers, I've asked mum if she can stock up for me :)

    Thank you!
I got the towels in a "towel bale" set from Asda, they were reduced from £8 I think, and the quality isn't bad either. :)
