How do you secure your teirs together.

    Help please?

Hi Craftlady: you can use just anything that will be taller than the folded nappy, like baby talc. baby bottle, baby lotion etc in the centre. although i do find that as a norm you dont need anything between the bottom 2 tiers as they sit perfect. what i do like is to use is a baby bottle between the top 2, as that then leaves a gap in the top tier that you push the teddies bum into to help to hold it in place.
    if that makes sense
  • Chatty123 I do that, I have talc, baby bath in the bottom tier, So the midde tier sits on it quite safely. And the same for the middle tier so the top one will sit nicely. I say that, this is my first cake. But that is what i've done! Safe sticking sticks in it.
Rusty, Jojo and Becs - I love your cakes!Love the towel cake idea, am wishing some of my friends move house/get married etc now!
Hoping to finish my cake this afternoon, i'll post a pic when I do.

I don't use anything to hold the tiers together, once it is all wrapped tight in cello they aren't going any where. Ooh just had an email from one of the contacts i made at the weekend and she is putting my buisness if you like( i would say hobbie) to her committee and they are going to vote on if it is the type of thing they would like at their do's. I bet they say no as it is quite hard to describe and they won't know what the quality of the product is like they can only go on what she tells them.

    Same here Louby Lou Lou,
I find the cello holds them securely so don't need anything between the tiers. I've posted a few of mine as well and they hold up fine. I pack them on their sides, somethimes the layers do seperate like this but as soon as you hold the top of the cake they naturally fall back into place so not a problem.

I've just had an order for a 3 tier (luxury) and a 1 tier, from the company where I did the stall on Thursday.

Thanks - It was quite daunting, but when i got round to it, it wasnt that much harder than a normal 3-Tier. I did manage to use 50 nappies though!!! I think it was because its an extra large cake board to make the top tier wide enough for 2 teddies!

Gosh thats a lot of nappies. most i have ever used is 38 .

do you roll them too tight maybe

Yeah I do like to roll them nice and tight as I think it makes the cake more firmer and neater. Will try being a little looser next time :p

Good evening everyone. I've been reading this thread with great interest ~ you're all so talented! I'm waiting to have a go and I'm busy collecting items to bake in my cake.
I'm planning on opening a baby shop and selling these kinds of unique gifts amongst the usual baby clothes and toys but I now need a shop name. Do any of you have any ideas? Thanks in advance :)
