    Lovely cakes everyone!

Don’t get on here much these days but Giggle, that is really not on, buying your stuff and selling it as her own.
Could you not “name and shame her” in some way? Or somehow vet any large orders as suspicious and not supply.
Better still – visit her at home and attempt to buy one of your gifts then make a big fuss and embarrass her. Same thing if she has a stall – let all the customers know that she is ripping you off!

My Asda never have any cheap blankets etc. Even the baby events are rubbish!

    To post pics

Register with www.photobucket.com or a similar site and follow instructions to upload your pics on that.
Next - hover mouse over chosen pic and a box will appear underneath with 4 options. You need to click on the IMG (think it’s the bottom one) and just for a second it will turn yellow and say “copied”. Don’t blink or you will miss it!
Next – go to MSE site and in box where you write your post – right click and paste.
At this point a string of letters etc comes up and not your pic but, don’t worry because when you send your post, your pic will magically appear.
You will probably have to play around with the size of your pic in “edit” to get it right for posting but it’s quite easy. Hope this all makes sense!
Look forward to seeing more pics of cakes!

  • giggle - I think its difficult to copyright some stuff like this although I have seen it for one lady who makes nappy cakes - her designs really are wonderful and there is a bit on her website saying that legal action will be taken if anyone copies her designs as they are copyrighted. I too have made some original designs which I have not seen anyone else doing but they were one offs and I don't think I'll be doing them again as they were lots of hard work and heartache!

slightly different but a few weeks ago I was at a craft fair and had someone from one of the other stalls come over - ''Oooh we'll watch and see if they sell and then we'll do some if they sell well'' she said! I wouldn't mind as much but its a regular craft fair at which we both exhibit so bit cross that she said she'd be doing the same!

will have a look at posting pics soon :o) as have made quite a few cakes recently and am really pleased with my xmas cake!
  • OMG Giggle that is just plain evil - buying your stuff and selling it as her own!
As for original designs there are are so many already done its hard to come up with something completely unique, but there is a line isn't there are she just crossed it - unbelievable!
Hope you can get it sorted out with her soon then.
I have a local baby shop that are willing to stock my gifts and cakes and the owner wants to do them sale or return and has asked me for a wholesale price for each cake. The trouble is I have been making cakes to order so whatever people ask for I make and then price accordingly - if that makes sense. Sometimes I don't make much profit anyway. Do you think that it would be worth doing som designs specifically for her shop (like a unique range) that way I can source the cheapest 'ingredients' and then come up with a wholesale price. Let me know what you think ladies - please...
    Thanks in advance
    Carly :)
