debsleypig there are instructions on here some where maybe on the old thread. Do a search and you may find it other than that someone may come along and post a link to it for you but i haven't got time to look late for school run and i haven't got dressed yet oops!A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Quick question I have just been in contact with a local shop which specialises in selling baby items and she has offered me sale or return. She has to get back to me to discuss things in more detail, but in the meantime has anyone done this before and if so how did you find it?
Thanks in advance

For all you ladies that do not have a website can I ask how you advertise please?
There are very little or no craft fairs in my area, I have no idea now to make a website so my sales so far have been by word of mouth which is not the way to go to make sales
I did a few leaflets but have just given them to friend's. Where do I go from here?
Hi Irlrp
Just catching up on some pages so this may have been answered already.
You could print some homemade posters/flyers up and put them up in local shops. Some places charge a nominal fee, i.e. 50p for 2 weeks (others too much). The Post office is often a good place to start. You could make some A4 size ones and some half the size or smaller? What about making an A4 one and putting it in your own window or car (if you drive)?
Do you know any parents - you may be one yourself - with small children/toddlers who go to nursery/playgroups that you could ask to put a poster up on your behalf?
What about getting yourself on Facebook? Much easier than worrying about a website and really easy to use.
If I think of anything else, i'll post it. HTH0 -
oooohh... forgot to add Irlrip... when you do make a cake up, 'hide' a business card or two in the layers so they are not immediately visible. That way the recipient has one on hand when they might like to purchase one for someone and they have a 'spare' to give to a friend who has admired theirs.0

have you thought about thainstone? your cakes are beautiful and loads better than the other lady who makes them and sells there, You could always do a car boot have a cake or 2 on your table with leaflettes, thainstone attracts thousands of people every sunday and the amount of folk with buggies and bumps is amazing. If i didn't stay an hour from aberdeen i know thats where i would head. it's £10 for your stall but i know quite a few crafters do go there esp to the inside bit you could ask some of them if they do craft fayres and where and how to go about getting a stall etc leave your number with them. You could also have a photo album of cakes you have already made so people can see your past creations and get an idea of the style of your cakes with different sizes etc. I have more fayres than i can handle and have had to turn some down. if you are interested i can pass your name onto the organiser of one and tell them you are interested although its in portsoy so a fair bit out for you.
I'm now panicking that i dont have enough ingredients to make stuff for the fairs i'm doing and never haveing been to one yet and having been booked for 4 is freaking me out!!0
