Unfortunatly bad reception and customer service are not grounds to break the contract, your contract will say Three are not responsible if you live in an area of bad receptions, other than in some cases you have a week or two to return it if it';s bad, after that you are deemed to have accepted the contract. If it went via OfCom contact them and ask them to look into it they may have more sway with Three than you do.

You could ask Three for the phone recordings of the £74 amount and see if that sheds any light on the matter.

Normally you pay the cost of the monthly contract x no of months left to break the contract.

    Sorry it's not better news.

Thank you i know what your saying but it was no reception rather than bad, i have had conversations with 3 and ofcom as the problem was not there at the start of the contract but came when t mobile and 3 started mast sharing and ofcom agreed they were not providing the service i was contracted to as i couldnt make calls or recieve calls but was still getting charged 1 min for every failed call i tried to make and i recieved no 3g service and i couldnt even lock onto orange as 3 suggested. I have called ofcom who now suggest to email or letter 3 getting them to review and waive the differance and if not i have a number to take it further and i cancelled the direct debit on the recomendation of ofcom.

Does anyone have an email address that i can email 3 to get this complaint started in writing;)

    Thanks in advance.

My wife just migrated away from 3 for similar reasons. I accept that there is no guarantee of reception but she cannot do without her phone so we wanted to buy-out the rest of the contract.

The call to customer services was an absolute nightmare, made worse by the poor signal. Two different operators gave 3 different figures to buy out the contract, and then for 30 minutes tried to convince her that her best option was to get a new phone and a new contract with them. When he finally gave up my wife offered her credit card number to pay the balance and get her PAC but was told that's not possible and the charge would be added to her next bill. I was dubious about this but she'd had enough at this point.

A bill turned up this morning showing £3.50 credit (??) with no termination charges. Having read your post I'm not hopeful the final bill will be what was agreed (well any of the 3 figures!), so would be interested in how you get on.

I personally have no problem with my 3 mobile broadband, but cannot recommend the company because of their customer service.

A little warning to pass on, ive been onto the bank as i have another 3 contract for my daughter £10 and 3 can and will take monies from whichever direct debit they can although they shouldnt, so ive had to change the direct debit to an account which i will credit with the amount needed each month.

I have emailed a strong (hopefully) letter to 3 executive office and to another name at 3 which i will pass on if needed ;) I will post back when or if 3 reply to the email.

That's a recipe for disaster. Do you think that the bank won't pay out a DD call from a network? They can pay it, and chase you for the O/d balance, charging you fees for this - OR they can bounce it, and charge you £30 for a bounced DD.

IF you don't trust the vendor - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DETAILS.

It was the banks recomendation that i cancel the D.D and assured me I wont get charged if 3 try to take the monies as I wouldnt have cancelled them, but fingers crossed it will be sorted before the monies are due (22nd June) as yesterday i had a reply from 3 executive office and i will have a reply from them within 4 working days

3 Exec office came back to me and will honour the £74 fee quoted as my account had a lack of info on it regarding the fee which she was surprised at as she couldnt even work out where the £130 had came from either so i paid the £74 over the phone with my card and now have a email from 3 stating my 3 account is now fully paid and closed :j

Excellent result, but they need to sort out their processes. I'll follow your lead when the inevitable incorrect invoice arrives (still waiting).
