Ventura holidays "prize"?

I got called by Ventura yesterday, asking for my husband & invited us to Bracknell to collect our free holiday. I don't believe in a free lunch either, but my husband does occasionally enter competitions & they claimed he had entered a competition from a flyer in a plane. I agreed to a slot just to get rid of them so I could check with him when he got home. Shock horror, he had no recollection of entering any such competition. As we're registered with TPS not to receive calls like this I'll be logging the cold call with TPS complaints.

I've just had the call from Ventura 1 in Bracknell. Firstly I had a call asking me to attend, then I had a call back a short while later asking me to confirm my address.

After the 1st call I wasn't expecting a 2nd call, so I did some research on them and found this thread amongst others. Upon receiving the 2nd call, I asked them to remove my name and details from their system, and the girl kindly replied with that has been done. I also mentioned to her (yes I was being a bit of a wind up merchant) that I had seen the relevant OFT issues etc, and so if I happened to be passing that area (I work in Bracknell fairly close) I would be advising people of the issues the OFT has with Ventura1. To which she replied "Thats good we haven't really deleted your details then, I have your name and phone number here and shall be passing these to our lawyer" and hung up.

Nice bunch! :-)

Nice one madspiral, but watch your back. They certainly believe attack is the best form of defence. Try cancelling their contract!!

I note that you joined MSE this month and your only two postings are on this forum. Even if you do a Google search on 'Ventura customer complaints' or other search criteria, it is not easy to find this MSE forum, which adds further doubts on your honesty.

To be honest with you, I don't care. I will never user Ventura1 and I hope that others also don't.

I think that Ventura1 are now detecting that people are not attending their meetings and are trying to investigate why. They have found this (and maybe other forums) and are getting their staff to post misleading info. Lets hope it fails and the company goes to the walls !:):)

True and I agree, but that said, when I haven't done anything wrong, its not like they can launch any attack despite whatever threat they may make.

I would just like to point out that Ventura Holidays for Single and solo travellers based in Shropshire (website venturaholidays.co.uk) has nothing to do with the Holiday Club which everyone is referring to in this thread. Ventura Holidays for single and solo travelllers is owned by Mango Holidays Limited (holidays for single parent families) at mangoholidays.co.uk. I am managing director of this company and we do not engage in the sort of practices referred to in this thread.
