Ventura holidays "prize"?

I have been invited to a Ventura event at Bournemouth for this Sunday 8th August 2010. I got my written invite in the post this morning. My 120mins session is due to start at 1130hrs. Looking at the written invite, there may also be another session at 1500hrs.

I will now not go to the session. I won't tell them that I won't be going.

If someone, who has been conned by them, wishes to take my place in order to masquarade as me (and my partner) and ruin the presentation, please feel free to do so. For info, the address of the Bournemouth event is Suite 7 Lansdowne Place, 17 Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth BH18 8EW. They are also quoting an email address of [EMAIL="enquiries@ventura1.co.uk"]enquiries@ventura1.co.uk[/EMAIL].

Hi it makes me feel good. It is a really hard sell and quite intimidating, hence the number of sensible people that finish up joining only to regret it later. If you could let me have a copy of your letter it would be most helpful in complaint to OFT as they collected the letters in with our group and wouldn't return them!

Very happy I just read that - got invited to exactly the same event, i fobbed them off with the lost my job/creditors coming in excuse so shouldn't hear from them again.

My question is, what now?? Who do we contact to make sure these con-artists (as that is how I see them) stop tricking people out of their money?? Is there anything we can do?? :(:(

More than happy to send you a copy. If you PM me and provide me with your personal email account, I will then scan the letter into my PC and forward it to you as an electronic attachment.

Very good question. I see from this thread that people have already contacted the OFT; so we need to see what they decide.

In the meantime, I will attempt to waste Ventura1's time and hopefully cost them money. If they attempt to contact me again after my non-attendance at their event this Sunday, I will just fob them off with an excuse and arrange to attend another event. I will then not bother to turn up again, etc.:):rotfl:

as above, was due to go tomorrow. Thought i might go and sit there for a couple of hours through some sales pitch and then see what they are actually giving away.

But won't bother now. If anyone wants the letter for reference, or knows who to send it to at oft if they're still investigating will send it on.

Ventura contacted me today to confirm numbers in my party for tomorrow and also catering arrangements (i.e. Tea or coffee). I pretended that I was still looking to attend.

Be interesting to see if I am chased after my non-attendance tomorrow.
