Hi, I have been trying to send you and SirMarcus a private message with my contact details but without success. (New boy)! A copy of your letter would greatly assist me in my formal complaint to the OFT. Will try again.
Thanks for your email confirming receipt of my message with a copy of the letter.0 -

Couldn't get your BBC or Watchdog URLs to work so either send another PM to me or try entering them manually here on this forum.0 -
We went to a Ventura presentation in Bracknell.
We initially understood we would get £50, a free holiday and some wine and chocolates. Initially we were told it was for a twenty minute presentation.
Having come out of another timeshare event in the past with £25 vouchers; I was sucked in.
We left with nothing. The suggestions that we would gain the cash, holidays and wine and chocolates were not followed through. The whole thing was as streaky fake as fake tan on one of the staff’s legs. The whole thing was really tacky!
I would not waste time on Ventura.0 -
Our presentation is due Saturday 14 Aug 11.30 in their 'new office' in Arlington Square, Bracknell. Guess we'll be giving it a miss. Should recognise a Timeshare when you get that 'free' or Complimentary offer!0

            Hi everyone
The above, all one and the same, were investigated by the OFT last year and obtained a number of undertakings following breaches of Community based legislation, which quotes 'The Enterprise Act 2002 (The Act) formal undertaking:
a. Regulation considered: General Prohibition//CPR Reg.3 Prohibition of unfair commercial practices that contravenes the requirements of 'professional diligence'. Regulation considered: Misleading Availability//CPR Sc1.7 Falsely stating prod. only available for limited time. Notes: Ensuring that any offers that state 'free' holiday - that there are no hidden costs.
b. Regulation considered: Misleading Practices//CPR Reg.5 Actions. Notes: An undertaking that any incentives offered by Ventura to attend presentations (for example M&S vouchers) that the incentive is honoured.
c, Legislation used: Community Infringements Specified UK Laws//Unfair Contract Terms 1999. Regulations considered: Reg5 18(e) Consumer declarations about contractual circumstances. Notes: Undertaking not to use contract terms that may not be true - for example requiring consumers to sign and state 'Ihave fully read and understood all the terms.... and agree to be bound by them...'etc. Regulation considered: 1(e) Penalty clause (financial). Notes: Undertaking not to use terms that cause a significant imbalance in the rights and obligations of the parties to the consumers detriment - for example financial penalties etc.
Should you need to quote OFT's original source it is: Undertaking obtained - EA2002 Date Effective 30 September 2009 Outcome Text: Formal undertaking for number of breaches of Community based legislation.
Sorry about the jargon but this is as published by OFT. So those who have attended presentations and not received the inducements offered you should complain to OFT. These undertakings are being breached and Ventura1 or whatever else they call themselves should be called to account.
Hope this is of some use to you. You can check this out at OFT's website.0 -

We recently attended a Ventura1 presentation. My Husband and I were very impressed. We actually joined on the day, and still to this day have not regretted it for a minute. On the day of the presentaion we were given everything we were promised. We have recently returned from our first holiday though Ventura1, and would have to say, the Customer Service could not be faulted, and the Accommodation was absolutley 1st class!! We would highly reccommend this company to anyone. True Value for money.0
