Actually Norton 2009 isn't that bad - I thought i'd hate (and I mean hate hate hate hate) it after the original 360 mullered every PC I ever used it on, but it's using 12MB of RAM on PC#2 (whereas Avast is using 75MB on PC#1), and is suprisingly light.

Not configurable on install options, I'll admit, but it's also not being annoying (i.e. useless popups telling me it's done stuff, or that xxx was trying to ping my PC and as such it blocked it etc).

    (i'm using the 360 v3 trial - but it's based of the 2009 engine).

EDIT - Avast is good (as I said - using it on PC#1), but it's heavier on system resources and is only an Antivirus as a pose to a firewall & antivirus.
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

Has anyone here actually tried Norton 2009?
I have and so has my dad. At first I wasn't too sure as I had experienced slow computer when I last had Norton two years ago but I read somewhere it had improved, and it has improved greatly. I would recomend it, I know I will get about 10,000 people saying tosh or words to that effect, but I have it installed and I am happy with it.

    Thanks for any advice
Try and find out about the selle e.g if he/she has had any bad/good comments check their profile and what kind of ratings they have also a good guide is to see what else they are selling.

Very easy to find on ebay, only started trading in May 09, and all transactions marked as private in feedback so you cant see what they sold.

    Hi All,

I would also recommend Norton 2009.

Had it on my PC for months now without a problem and none of the slowdowns experienced by users of previous versions of Norton.

    Cheers

    Gaz

Very true but the feedback is good and in the feedback people have said about the Norton key working but its the fact is it legal as I dont want Norton for half a year when they find the key is fake if that is possible?

I would not go as far as thinking a Nigerian would want to help me out :rotfl:
