Hmm..just read what I entered above, and hope I'm not sounding too 'naive' about my CSA contact. I remain hopeful and positive.0

To correct Loopy, I haven't made any unpleasant comments to anyone, regular contributors or otherwise, on the contrary.
I am here for the same reason everyone else has come here and that is to find some advice and answers, and have been thrilled to get some positive suggestions and support from some people (regular and occaisional posters) For that I'm very thankful - and I admire those of you that have been doing this for so long, in particular I notice that Kelloggs has made some very supportive comments to others (and now me too, thxs K)
With regards to your comment comment, perhaps you are right and this particular 'support' forum isn't for me.
No offence taken at all, but thanks for the apology anyway.
We are a hard headed bunch on this board, it takes a lot more than a few words to offend most of us on here.0 -
I did, I had a case for my eldest with the CSA since 1993, after years of nothing I complained to the CSA. They have a formal complaints procedure that needs to be exhausted before you can go to the Independent Case Examiner. I eventually got to that stage last year and received a couple of compensatory payments from the CSA for about £200 in total. ICE found that the CSA had been negligent and there was maladministration on my case. It was only once I had received the ICE response did I realise that you could make a claim for advanced maintenance payments. Luckily for me my ex had started paying back some of his 13K arrears at £22 a month (its been to court, baliffs etc).
I applied for an advance and lo and behold I have been told this week that virtually all my arrears will be paid to me .... I am awaiting the letter as I type.
Its taken 16 years and a fair amount of grief but by god don't I think it was worth it now!
And before anyone comments, I would much rather have had the financial help while my daughter was younger and wished that my ex had made the effort to remain in her life - but hey I'm not arguing with them now though!!:T This means I can spoil both my kids now!0 -
YOu are one of the lucky ones as your ex did agree to pay and finally started making payments. I was also lucky but in a different way. I was refused an advance payment because my ex still refused to pay - the NRP has to be making regular payments in order for an advance payment to be granted.0

Hi
I got my local MP involved as the CSA were useless. Within weeks I had a responce from the Chief Executive and 3 weeks later the CSA agreed to pay me all the arrears + interest as a way of saying sorry for their mistakes/maladministration. I didn't have to ask for it, I also received the £100 goodwill payment from them as a recommendation from ICE.Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0 -
Kittycatty, does the payment come from the CSA or the nrp?
Dizzydusty - same question, do they just get the ex to come up with the arrears, or does the CSA pay now, and collect from nrp in future?0 -
The NRP has to have paid consistently over a period of time at the very least for it to happen0

Hi
The payment came from the CSA and they are now chasing the NRP for the full amount + interest to date. They are also chasing for payments from 2006.
(the advance payment was from 2002 till 2006) Since then I have had 2 payments in Oct 2006 and Nov 2006 from the nrp via the CSA but then nothing, my MP is looking at this again as they have admitted they lost all the paperwork again and then found it 12 weeks ago. My direct complaint with them has gone unanswered though.Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0 -

At the time the nrp had not paid a penny towards costs, but due to mistakes admitted they paid as a way of an apology.Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0 -
The CSA pay up front if the NRP is proving that they are paying regularly, then they continue to collect from the NRP over time.0
