This training is conducted on the road to enhance your road skills in preparation for passing your test. Depending on your ability and experience you may need to do part of your road training on a 125cc bike and then proceed up to the 500cc to finish your training package.
If you are 17 years old or over we offer 125cc training, you may choose this package and do your test on a 125cc if you don’t want to ride a larger machine or are under 21 years of age.
After the CBT we will tell you what training package will suit your needs, but should you already hold a CBT certificate a 125cc assessment may be required to gauge your ability and put you on the right course so that you are not wasting your time or money on unnecessary training.
If you are 21 years old or over then you can opt to do the Direct Access Scheme (DAS). This means that you can learn to ride and take a test on a motorcycle of at least 46.6 bhp. On passing the test under this option you can ride anything you like straight away. (You can only ride a larger motorcycle as a learner if you are under the direct supervision of a DSA approved Direct Access Instructor.)Plan

If you do go down the 125cc route, there is no need to buy 2 bikes within 2 years, you could buy what ever size cc bike and have it restricted to 33bhp, then have it unrestricted after the 2 years, this would then get you used to riding an heavier bike0

People have evolved into two-legged creatures from those with four as it gives certain advantages. It's the same with vehicles. Bikers on two wheels (engine or pedal powered) have evolved from simple Neanderthal cage-driving motorists and have complete freedom of the road, being able to pass through the heaviest of traffic with ease. So I would encourage you to get onto two wheels - you won't regret it.
All the right information has been given here about licensing, but one thing you really shouldn't skimp on is training. Get as much as you can - before and after you pass your test. Consider going for advanced training so you increase your chance of not being wiped out by your own carelessness or (more likely) my some cage-driving road raged Neanderthal. If you want to improve your riding, then the best £15 you can spend is to buy this DVD. It may just save your life and as a bonus will make your riding faster, smoother and more enjoyable. No connection with the chap, just a satisfied customer.0
