Also in the last lot of posts a few people were having a go at code-a-holic.Tell me, if you sell your cars privately that have 3 months plus mot on them do you get them completely retested before you would sell them on?...sounds like you must.
I don't see anyone having a go, who in paticular?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Hello all - didnt realise people were still posting on the thread!
As you amy have guesed from lack of post - no progress!
Last time i spoke the policeman had sen me and was going to se my dad - well he didnt turn up!
Nothing has been heared since! Police cant be taking it seriously if they dont want to talk to anyone about it - they told me that they were going to speak to the mOT inspector - they havnt done that either.
I wont close the book on the saga yet.......not until im in my grave probably!
Im planning on putting my husbands car on ebay over the weekend......very nervous as im sure you can understand! Sold as seen will be going on the advert thats for sure!0 -

It was Gorgeous George's joke, I got it.
ps: Sorry to hear of your ongoing grief but enjoying the story. At least bus is off your land now! Personally I'd forget about it and only consider it again if buyer actually attempts further action, which lets face it he probably won't. In all fairness he's probably going to try and ignore the garage bills and seems likely to dissappear leaving debts behind but at least you're not liable for them.
Incidentally my VW Passat is currently advertised on ebay.... will sell with caution I think.0 -
Did you ever reply to his letter with the bills? I would be tempted to if I were you...
Simply state that the MOT test he had done was done after he had had the bus in his possession for some time and can not be used as proof that the damage occurred before the sale. Also state that you deny any liability for the alleged damage.
