    Hi
Just wondering if anyone happens to know of anything I can clean a white plastic sink and drainer with other than bleach. There are a lot of black ring marks in the bottom of the sink that I am having trouble removing. I was trying to stop using bleach if I could, but I'm stuck as to what will remove it. I've tried bicarb soda, vinegar, soda crystals.. cant' think what else at the moment.

I am after a new sink/drainer, possibly stainless steel, as our mixer tap is constantly dripping and we can't fix it, but until we can get one of those, I just want to clean mine up, so it's not so grubby.

    Thanks
    Yvonne

I fill mine with hot water with biological washing powder / liquid and leave to soak (usually overnight). It doesnt always shift every mark, but it does leave it clean and fresh. For really stubborn marks i sprinkle the washing powder into the damp sink and scrub at them with the washing up brush. Rinse and then soak as above.
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle

Thanks,I only have biological powder tablets, only generally use non bio, but I'll give it a bash. I've also heard dishwashing powder is good?
Then again I'm using aquados for dishwasher and they're powder squished into little bags/capsules/tablets, so not sure if I can split one open and try?

    thanks for your help

I know it's not OS but I just saw this topic and wandered in.

I had a similar problem with a bath and read on the Internet about using oven cleaner - was fantastic!

You just spray in on then leave it for a while and rinse off. Careful though, it's strong stuff.

Hi I have just popped over from DFW. I read OS all the time and it has helped me save a fortune.

Can any of you lovely OSers tell me how to clean a white sink Old Style? I have recently moved and can't get the tea stains etc from my sink. I used to have a ceramic one.

    Thank you xx

Hi, try making a paste of biological washing powder (optical brighteners and all that) with a bit of warm water and leave on the sink. It will probably need several goes. Best of luck.

Have you tried a past of bicarb?

Once you get it clean, try giving it a rub over with car polish to give it a protective finish (not very OS, sorry :o)

I'm sure someone will come along soon with much better OS suggestions than this!
