I'd go for the bad month figure! Then you're covered for worst case scenario. In the spirit of Debt Free Wannabe though, I would squirrel away the extra amount OH gets on a good month - put it away in a savings account for an emergency. After 12 months if no emergency has happened and you have a nice little nest egg you can offer it up among all your creditors (CCCS will advice it is offered up fairly and proportionately - spelling?) or perhaps as a Full & Final settlement figure with one of your smaller debts. (I think a figure of 25-55% is normally offered in these cases).

I thought if you were offering a F&F it had to be pro rata's over all the creditors? my debt is £49k if i were to say get £1k from somewhere(I wish!) could I then maybe offer F&F's to a couple of my smaller debts? I didnt think I could.........???

had contact from halifax and sounds good so far, they havent recieved my debt managment notification yet so explained over the phone our situation and they have been overly nice to us saying as soon as they hear from cccs they will stop all interest woo-hoo they even asked if there was anything they could do for us (what i dont know). feel loads better now, i just hope everyone else is so understanderble.

    hi blueye.
glad things are slowly getting worked out for you. some companies will be great others not so great. just remember as long as they are getting some money on a monthly basis there is not much more they can do. even if they take you to court to get a CCJ, the court will look at your incomings/outgoings and will in some cases settle for a smaller paymnet per month.
this happened to us. we were paying say £30 a month, took a CCJ against me and now we pay £12 a month. if they had left us alone they would have had all their money now!!
Think the worse ones we have are MBNA and GE Money. MBNA always add the interest on and have even charged us late payment fees, even though they know that CCCS make the payments on a set date every month.

could do but it would take to long so wouldnt be able to pay the mortgage on time as it needs paying on the same day the wages go in
