thats crappola.. plenty of people here manage.. and plenty of people say its the best thing they've done.. and lots are confident enough to come off it in time and do it on there own. That woman's a berk. :mad:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

great so they wont go through the bank statements and find i dont have pet insurance and the like?
Debt companies and creditors are so busy that I doubt if they'd notice anything like that. I think they just take a cursory glance at your budget to make sure it seems acceptable and no big expenses. I get £21 allocated for my pet. I don't have pet insurance and no one has questioned it. So I get decent pet food and don't feel guilty cos it's within my budget. Not sure what you'd get if you tell them you have 2 Rottweilers mind!!

Anyhooo..
I know if needs be I could crank it up maybe another £100 .. I did it that way to see how I could/would cope. Then maybe review it again in a few months and see how I managed on that budget.Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I'm a single person and CCCS insisted I had a groceries budget of £180 pm - I spend nothing like that even with 2 cats! But that's what's gone on my SOA!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Mortgage free since 2014

CCCS are fab.
they work to strict guideline likeas other grocery shopping. we are allowed £240 per month but only prob spend £140 this leaves £100 that we can have as a treat or save away.
you have an minute socialising budget of £25 per couple but there are ways around it like under spending on food.
you get to save as well in a rainy day fund for xmas, birthdays as well. oh gets basic salary and then commission but DMP is based on basic salary as commission can be high/low.
they will advise you have basic TV/broadband package
and best of all is that all your monthly payment goes to the creditor!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Defo go with one of the charities, the fee you would be paying to churchwood could go towards your debts, I am sure I have read somewhere that the creditors prefer you to go via a charity rather than a fee paying company, that way they know all available money is going to them rather being swallowed up for a fee you needn't pay. If you haven't done so already go onto CCCS online and you can setup a DMP that way without even speaking to anyone, you fill in your own budget ( online tool will guide you through ) to suit your individual needs
Please dont shell out extra money needlessly, CCCS, Payplan or even National debt helpline will all help for free. Churchwood are just filling your head with sales pitch so they can make money out of YOU. Hope this helps xx LBM MAY 2009 :T
