I found this which may help you. Looks a bit complicated though, as I have no experience of Linux.

You could get 4 for £20 (plus postage) using the £20 off £40+ for your first order.

Good news folks, just got mine and you will be happy to know that these come already unlocked so any SIM card will work in it.

Is the software compatible with any SIM or will one need to use generic software?

The software should be compatible, however you will need different settings for different networks. I have not gone into this yet personally but it is unlocked as far as I put a 3 simcard in it and it logged onto the 3 network with signal strength on HSPDA.

Here is a breakdown of the connection settings for different networks, unfortunately I don't have the settings for Virgin:

    3 Internet

    APN: 3internet
    IP address: Leave blank
    Username: Leave Blank
    Password: Leave blank

    BT Mobile Internet
    APN: btmobile.bt.com
    IP address: 212.183.137.12
    Username: bt
    Password: bt
    URL: http://wap.btmw.net

    O2 Internet
    APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
    Username: mobileweb
    Password: password
    Primary DNS: 192.113.200.200
    Secondary DNS: 192.113.200.201
    SMTP gateway (for email): smtp.o2.co.uk

    Orange Internet
    APN: orangeinternet
    Username: Leave blank
    Password: Leave blank
    Primary DNS: 193.035.131.194
    SMTP gateway (for email): smtp.orange.co.uk

    T-Mobile Internet
    APN: general.t-mobile.uk
    Username: user
    Password: pass
    Primary DNS: Set automatically
    SMTP gateway (for email): smtp.t-email.co.uk

    Vodafone Internet
    APN: internet
    Username: web
    Password: web
    Primary DNS: 158.043.240.004
    SMTP gateway (for email): smtp.vodafone.net
If you find you cannot alter the settings in the dongle to the network of your choice you can download an unbranded version of the connection software at http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/33

  • Numpty question coming up - apologies in advance :o

How do you use this? Does it come with a sim card - is it a special card? Can you just top up as and when you need it?

    Thanks

Can anyone confirm/clarify how long the "unlimited Cloud WiFi" lasts/works for ?

Is it just for the period that the mobile broadband is enabled ?
    eg £2 gets 500mb / 1 day
    £7.50 gets 1gb / 1 week
    £15 gets 3gb / 1 month

... and the Cloud stops when these time out ...

.. or does it continue afterwards ?

Or is it "forever" - like a "lifetime" membership ONCE YOU'RE IN ?
