I'm not sure to be honest. I suspect when you top up they'll text you a username and password to login to the wi-fi hotspots and they will only be valid for the time period you've already paid for your mobile broadband time.
I.E say you pay £2 for a days access you will get 500mb to download over the O2 network AND unlimited downloads for that same day should you use any Wi-Fi hotspots0 -

If this is true and you don't have to continually top-up to get the free wi-fi then this is a better deal than first thought.0 -
When you're in a hotspot it will ask you to login or register - I can't find it on their website either.0
