Surely if the thread was titled....
Pigsback - Clickthrus and Competitions. Please only post links!
That might stop general discussion.
And for the general discussion thread...
Pigsback - Discussion area
You got to be pretty dim to not understand which one to put your post in.
I see yes votes 87, no 26!!! :j0 -

This was done on the Vouchers board. There is a separate thread entitled 'Tesco Codes Only' and one 'Tesco Codes Discussion Thread'.
Believe me, some days you would struggle to tell which was which!
I agree that the idea is a good one. The difficulty is having everybody following the guidelines.0 -
I think 2 seperate threads works well in principal but its whether it works well in practice that is the problem, there has been a lot of 'I haven't received my XYZ points' and whilst no-one except Darragh can help with the answer to this it seems to help people by finding out who else is in the same boat...
I wouldn't be particularly worried about the thread being sticky or not but do sometimes find it a little long winded to have to trawl through the same comments to get to something that interests me...
So I guess in principle I would agree that one thread was set up for posting offers and links etc and another for gripes, questions and general chat?? It just means more work for the board guides to move posts when they are posted in the wrong place but should make life a bit clearer and easier if it works well??
Failing that I have no ideas but to ignore the duplicate threads and to let out a big sigh...........
:rolleyes:Official DFW Nerd 2100 -
One thread, please. Not sticky.
Everyone's said it already, but 2 threads would be hell to follow and administer, and half the posts would probably be people complaining about other people posting the wrong thing on the wrong thread anyway.
I agree that the Pigsback thread is always on the front page, and so not necessary to have as a sticky. And it isn't important to everyone, so probably doesn't qualify.
I am always subscribed to the latest Pigsback thread, which is easy enough to do by going into 'thread tools' at the top of the thread, or automatically when you post to the thread.
I find the thread pretty easy to follow with helpful people like Cuppatea (and others) working hard to keep it tidy and user friendly.
Thanks.A penny saved is a penny gained0 -
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If the discussion is removed fromt he codes then how do people effectively ask questions about the codes?
"See the post 6 down on page 5 of the links thread, well i think it for the Northern Ireland site" is not an effective way of doing it.
The pigsback thread is always on the front page, often in the top ten, more often than not in the top 5!
Let people ask the questions they have, that is the only way people learn.0 -
