Lets make the Pigsback thread a sticky!!

How would making the thread a sticky, make it easier for you?0

Im not sure there is any need to make it a sticky. Ever since i started the first thread it always seemed to have stayed on the first page anyway so why bother.0

I agree!

I have to say, that i can't see the need to make it a sticky either.
As for spliting the thread I can't see a need for that either. It seems to work fine as it is. All revelent information for newbies is posted at the begining of the thread, thanks to cuppatea.
So my vote would be to leave it as it is.0 -
There have been requests before to make the Pigsback thread sticky and it's never happened so I can't see it happening now. The Pigsback thread has always seemed strong enough to stay as near to the top as is necessary, but for convenience it would be nice.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - Don't make 2 separate threads this would be a nightmare. People would post the same point on both threads, you would have to flick between threads for different information, people would not be sure which thread to post on etc etc. I think I would be a screaming lunatic after just one day of having to cope with 2 threads.
BTW Ryanski - nice to see the original poster of the Pigsback thread is still out there. Thanks to you many people have had loads of vouchers etc from Pigsback.\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/Wise Men Still Seek Him!0 -
I can't see any need for it to be a sticky either as it is always on the first page.
Anyway, I thought sticky threads were invisible to most users, as they always seem to complain that can't see the SIM card offers when they are posted on a sticky thread!
Two Pigsback threads would be confusing and unwieldy. Nobody would ever keep to the 'discussion' thread and it would lead to more complaints along the lines of:
Person a: My pigsback points haven't been credited for XXX
Person b: This is the offers only thread. Post in the other pigsback thread - Can't you read!
Person a: Sorry. I didn't realise there were two threads
Person c: There is no need to be so rude to a newbie
Person d: Yes, we were all newbies once
Person e: I thought this was offers only!
Person f: I don't think this should be a sticky thread because I always miss the offers on here. Can't we have a Pigsback board??
:rotfl: Maybe I'm too cynical!!!0 -
Why are people getting "thanks" votes when this is purely a discussion and their own personal opinion?Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Some very good points raised. Don't you just love difference of opinion, it would be a boring place without it.
I find the current pigsback thread cumbersome at times. It takes an eternity to trawl through the thread. The same link gets posted 5 times because people can't be bothered to use the search tool or just want to increase their 'thanks' clicks.
Cuppatea, Kazzea, droopsnout and a few other contribute constructivly to the pigsback thread. But I oftenly find their usefull posts/links repeated further down the thread. Sometimes only two or three posts down.Whats the point in that?
My thinking is splitting it into two, might stop the repetitive links and posts.
I agree that policing two threads would be more difficult. People would get idea in the end.0 -

I often use the thanks button to show that I agree with a poster's statement and acknowledge their point of view. It's just a quick way to say 'I agree'.
I can't see any harm in thanking people - it isn't a vote as such.0 -
