Why do you want to hide your IP? Doing something illegal perchance?

I used to use TOR to allow me to run 2 accounts on an online war game, which wasnt illegal, just against the rules of their game.

Why would you want to know what he is doing

Because there are different ways of doing different things. If they were trying to hide their IP for a particular reason which they were willing to share with us they may have got better answers to solve the problem they have.

I dont think it was said in that context.

I would imagine the only two options are that you either want to hide your IP or you dont, to be honest mate.

You asked why would you want to know what he is doing, and I provided an answer without assuming anything dodgy or illegal was beoing done.

Don't see anything wrong with that 'mate'. You can roll your eyes all you want.

    1) Evade a ban (for example on a website such as this)
    2) Evade geographic restrictions
    3) Enable you to have two accounts open on a website at the same time (already mentioned on this thread)

Human rights activists in China have found ways to communicate out to avoid being harassed. You can't rule out the politics of a state going into reverse gear anywhere, so there is a need for these programmes.
Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...
