Anyone know if there any any free tools for hiding your IP address online? Maybe open source or the likes.

No idea mate, there are lots to choose from, and unfortunately they slow your connection down a lot, I liked tor when i was using it tho, simple enough to use.

Why do you want to hide your IP? Doing something illegal perchance?
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

Hmm pretty sure the best way to do it is by going through seveal proxy servers...however if you don't know - you probably aren't going to get :)

Software to mask your IP sounds extremely unlikely to me, I could be wrong but software installed on a local machine isn't going to mask the I.P address that your ISP issues you for the Internet.

It looks more like this software masks your IP address to make it appear like it's from a bigger network of PC's and makes that untraceable. Only problem being, you will more than likely have 1 static IP through your ISP and that is going to lead back to the same "network".

Which at the end of the day...is still owned by you :)

Give it a go, I personally wouldn' trust software from a site that has been designed by a three year old :) If you are indulging in highly illegal activites online, my best advice would be to stop!

If you are looking for a geninue "work around" to an issue such as "this video is not allowed in your region" then there are other solutions :)

Yeah..how do you go about this?

There are many sites that will have videos downloaded and uploaded minus the region check. Having good search skills would be one such work around.

The main way really is through a proxy as already mentioned, which effectivley spoofs you a new IP as I'm sure you know. There are also websites which specialise in this kind of thing, I'm not going to start linking due to legalities but they are deffinatley there!
