The bloke who lives on the corner of my road parks his Mercedes Monster right on the corner.
I cannot see a solitary THING as I edge Oh so gently out with by doze against the windscreen trying to see if there is anything coming from the right.
I nearly got hit by a car coming from the left as I was concentrating so much on the right!!
Would have been my fault of course, but I simply cannot afford to look the other way in case something appears from around the Merc (right = busy road, left = cul de sac).
He does park half on the pavement though (it is a 4x4 after all) which, although he feels proud he can mount the pavement with consumate ease, makes it even more difficult to see whats coming as I approach the junction.0 -

All people from somerset are bonkers idiots. Go back to the turnips and don't post here again.
And if you find this offensive - you're meant to!
Its making a point about the generalisations which you're throwing out!
1. Caravanners are statistically some of the safer drivers on the road. If you're being held up you might like to consider that they're limited to 50 on normal roads and 60 on dual carriageways and motorways.
2. 4x4 is a drive train not a weight or a driving licence requirement. You want to ban all Subarus just to meet your fetish?
3. you're a bigot
PS. I actually rather like somerset and its people. I'm prepared to make an exception though!
I'm from Somerset:o:D.
My Land Rover runs in 2 wheel drive unless told otherwise and, at 5' wide and 12' long, is one of the smallest vehicles on the road:beer:.
Only does 18 mpg though:o but it did spend 20 years defending the country so that the OP would be free to express their opinion.:rotfl:0 -

No they don't actually, that is " caused " by the impatience, intolerance of bad drivers that are following.
As has been said, they have speed restrictions imposed upon them, that is not of their making.0 -
The last few times I've been out towing, I've been held up by slow cars ahead - most recently by one who averaged less than 40 in a 60 limit. But the cars behind me can't see that so blame the only thing they can see - my caravan!0

You're out of touch. In more fashionable counties most school run mums have already moved on from 4x4s. How terribly early 2000s.andy208833 wrote: »Given that these idiots are as bad as shed pulling caravaner's i reckon that you should have to prove that you need a 4x4 before you can get one. Live on a farm, down a dirt track or really need it for off road work then fair enough but does a school run mum really need one if they live in suburbia?
4x4 drivers are the new Volvo 'look at me i'm invincible' idiots of the road imo0 -

I agree. From what I see, usually caused by them driving so close to each other that they can't brake in time.0
