Question: Buyers picking up items so no pop

You could also offer a discount on cash on collection? Because then you won't pay Paypal fees also? Maybe that will attract him to pay in cash?0

I know there have been many threads on ebay and some on here for buyer claiming non collection when paid with paypal
Has anyone ever got the police or courts interested when it has happened?Needing to lose weight start date 26 December 2011 current loss 60 pound Down. Lots more to go to get into my size 6 jeans0 -
proof of delivery may only count with paypal BUT like i said, we would take it to the police or small claims if it even came to that.
On collection items we give a receipt for the item with our details, and obtain a signature (plus thumb print for PayPal purchases) from the buyer on our copy, usually witnessed by a neighbour or friend. When helping them move the item, we also make a note of their vehicle number plate and model details. So far nobody has tried to pull a "fast one" on us, but we are prepared.
As to discouraging the use of PayPal on our eBay listings that are "pick-up only", we have successfully used this recently:
"When paying by PayPal for collection-only items, for our mutual protection, please remember to bring photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Firearms Certificate, etc.) and a recent utility bill with your name and address. We also require a copy of your fingerprints for our records. Thank you for your understanding."
Hope this helps!"Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
sorry but you wouldnt get a fingerprint from me
i'd happily show my drivers licence but i wouldnt be jumping through hoops for you0 -

Am I being completely stupid here? you don't have to offer paypal do you?
I know its to late for this particular sale but in future can't you put it on as cash only??
Cars and associated categories are exempt from the requirement to offer paypal, which is why whether this bike is a pedal bike or a motor bikes makes all the difference.
For all other categories paypal is a requirement.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As mentioned I would offer a discount for a cheque or postal order. They get the item for less and you have less risk.
As for not wanting to carry cash, they could get a bankers draft (basically a pre-cleared cheque) from the bank.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

If he doesn't want to carry cash, he could send a bank transfer. They're completely safe for you as once the money is in your account, it's yours.
I would be on scam alert by now if he was still insisting on Paypal.:j30/7/10:j
