The problem with this board is that there are a lot of "You did the crime-you pay the fine" posters and it gets difficult to filter out the well meaning from the less well meaning, posters come here for help and not castigation. Add to that the posters who tag onto another post instead of starting their own and it is not surprising some get irritated.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

That the OP does the same as me as it worked in my and 4 others cases. But this obviously is not a friendly board, won't bother posting on here again.

Yes I understand that you mean well but IMO it is seriously flawed advice. To suggest that someone ask a Council to exercise discretion just because it worked for you is not particularly helpful. I explained that in the majority of cases of this type, the appellant loses!

the best suggestion so far was from Coblcris but your post appeared to be telling the OP to ignore it? Why should the OP not research something solidly relevant and only rely on 'mercy'?

At no time did I say ignore it. I simply stated that I appealed and invited them to review the CCTV which would confirm payment.

Please do not misquote me in your summary.

Isn't it the failure to display that is it at issue not the payment ?

I've had more than 1 parking ticket overturned that should never have been given. One sticker fell off and one was on the wrong window! It is worth writing . I think the attendants just slap them on and most people don't complain. It works for them most of the time.

i have not misquoted you. You clearly advised the OP to proceed as you did and presumably that was your advice on the best course of action.

I'm not trying to be clever but if someone has posted a very relevant possibility, as Coblcris did here, then maybe some thought about 'effect' should go into subsequent posts.

Again as coblcris has subsequently pointed out, there was no legal basis for cancellation of your PCN at all. The issue is not payment it is display.

you say not friendly? i input mostly on another forum but if anyone pulls me up on 'iffy' advice with a valid point i am always actually grateful for that! Instead you choose to be offended? It's not necessary.
