If you look at that link, and click the option for viewing it as "timeless lounge" that's the shape our room is, and the fire surround in that picture is the same shape as ours, just that ours is weird fake marble, and doesn't look anything like as smart as that white one does.

Thanks for the nice comments about the colour scheme BTW! :D
    Oh, very classy:T

Don't know, it's cold tho. It feels like stone.

It'll be slate mocked up to look like marble - we have one (original fireplace in our Victorian house :T ) and it's lovely :D

If I were going to paint it, I'd probably give it a rub down with some sandpaper. Then give it a good clean, to get rid of any greasy deposits (fires are terrible for that). Then paint using undercoat first, then oil-based topcoat ;)

Valli.... have you taken up residence in my head?????:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for the suggestions PenPen. It's certainly not original, unfortunately. The people that owned the house before us put it in. I think Pigpen's right, it's some kind of resin. I can tap it quite heard with my knuckles, it makes a good knocking sound, but it doesn't hurt my hand... stone would hurt I guess. :)

Front garden is now stripped bare. Gravel and membrane bought. Membrane laid on one side of the garden, all garden action temporarily abandoned for footie! Bless!

Yay - first time i've managed all the lists, not being at work for most of the week helped though! Everything has had a really deep clean so should be fairly easy to keep on top of it all hopefully!

Spent all morning at the allotment with my dad - weeds grow really quickly! Lots of lovely broad beans very nearly ready and the spuds have once again needed earthing up - the earthing is a good foot deep now!

Off to meet my friend after the football has finished to have a picnic and a few drinkies whilst watching our friends playing cricket - probably heading for a curry tonight as well. Really looking forward to it - been a bit down and avoided going out with friends for a while now but i have had my orders today so hell bent on enjoying myself!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sun! Lots of love and hugs to all those who need/want them! xx

Grrrr.... how inconsiderate. Someone a few houses down had one for an afternoon once. It's really annoying. Blowpipe and dart maybe?:p:D

Right.... one side of the front garden done. :j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T:TMr Sh's been on a mission. He whizzed out during half time to finish the first side. :rotfl::rotfl: It looks so much better. I'm not a huge fan of plain graveled areas, but we've been here for 8 years now, and we've never got round to doing the front garden so.... gravel it is! I may plant something interesting through the membrane...... oooo Japanese Maple.....Or sage..... I love sage plants! Easy-peasy, lots of interest + very bug friendly. :j

Going to run round to a retail park near our house and get a new top for tonight, then scoff some sausage casserole which is simmering in the slow cooker.

OH has arrive safely - complete with cheese the MIL asked him to bring. Yes, they live in France and she asked him to bring cheese. She also asked him to "pop into Gregg's at the airport and pick up some buns".

He had to explain to the mad moo that A) Gregg's ain't gonna be open at 5am B) why would an airport bakery sell packs of bread buns C) there are bread shops in France.. boulangeries perhaps? (spelling)
