  • hi all!

busy getting ready to go away tomorrow for a few days so following my own list today.

managing to get there slowly but struggling to get the ebay listings done, a rather boring and lengthy list of cake decorating supplies, 'tis rather boring to say the least!

managed to get all bedding washed and dried - its glorious between the showers, and the racing in and out must be good for my waistline!! even had the kiddies tent cleaned and drying on the line - DS now thinks I'm crackers..

OK - back to some batch cooking - cheesy potato pie anyone? DS is cooking it and he's turning into a nice little chef.

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

    Hello Lovelies :hello:

Toots I'm gutted I missed your visualisation. I know it's not the same but, I'll spend some time tonight sending healing vibes with lit candles. I think we should do it again too. I was really pleased that you felt something too.
Please let me know when we're going to 'do' LadyL I'd like to do that.

Valli that thread was really entertaining. It's kept me giggling for a while.

SSL thanks hun. She's fine now.

    Little heads up for everyone.

I know we're all pretty savvy about computer stuff, but I really wanted to pass this on. My friends have a 13yrold dd. She's been playing up a bit, and they were talking to me about what she'd been doing. In the course of dialogue with them, I mentioned that my girl had said their girl was using msn. They were pretty sure she hadn't, as she's not allowed to..... however.....

When they checked their computer, they discovered that unbeknown to them, their DD had registered with every social networking site, she'd had all kinds of blokes trying to talk to her, and wanting to meet her. She'd got photos of herself in her school uniform up, and a very unsavoury website had contacted her about doing some 'photos' for them.

I'm trying to be discreet with what I'm saying, as it's half term.

My friends are devastated.... as a consequence of this I've spoken to some other friends, they've combed their children's comps, and found all sorts of things... unsavoury sites bookmarked etc.... unpleasant things in the history, and that they're registered with Facebook/MySpace etc etc.

These friends of mine are all really lovely, bright, sensible, and loving parents. Certainly not stupid about this stuff, but they had been very trusting about what their children would look at.

I'm not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs, but, it's always worth having a quick check of their history...

I hope no-one minds me saying all this. It's been a very upsetting few days for everyone. Particularly the parents of the 13yo. Their girl was going to meet a 51yo man.

Anyway, I'll stop going on about it now. :(

Today I'm trying to get a little organised so it will help the long haul of 7 weeks school before the summer break.
The conservatory is beginning to look a bit better but why have we got so much stuff? We have a 4 bedroomed house and there are only two of us! Must say though two of the bedrooms are tiny.
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

I hope they are going to contact the police, as I think this may well constitute an offence, what the guy has done, even just arranging to meet.

ETA Rosepink you are hanging in there, bravo!

OMG SS! Scary stuff...DD1 is only 6 yo so a bit young yet but its worrying to think who has access to your children. Thank goodness her parents found out in time. I assume they've involved the police? I'm sure everyone appreciates the gentle reminder to check on what your children are looking at. We found out my niece (11 yo) had been googling certain words at my IL's house. Not sure what websites she'd looked at in the end though but the IL's had a word with my SIL about it.

The lounge and kitchen are now tidy and clean. Need to pick up DD1 in a minute then do the tea, swimming, parents round for tea thing to do so might make it back here tonight, if not will be here tomorrow morning.

    See you later. x

DD has been trying bless her but is now stressing as in her words daddy will say " why havent you cleaned your bedroom you could have made an effort blah blah blah" and he'll be home in 20 minutes .

I still have the dining room and kitchen to hoover and the dining room to tidy/dust then downstairs is done.

    Will update official list later

and on the note above we found our DD had been showing her friend cartoon !!!!!! site where they could play all sorts of games. We had thought we were relatively safe as we had aol parental controls on and didnt think she could access anything. She was smart enough to realise we had wireless broadband and by going onto google earth she could then get onto other browsers and find what she wanted to satisfy her curiosity. She was 9 at the time !!!! Needless to say although she has our old computer now she does not have internet access at all.

Have an extra 10 mins as OH just phoned
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Today's list all done and living room is looking really good for it :D

Have a cottage pie in cooking as my little brother is coming round for dinner ahead of yet another cricket game this evening a 20/20 this time. Pup has been walked, fed and is now fast asleep on the hoovered rug - will get a 2nd hoovering when she wakes up!

    I've also:

    * re-filled the pond.
    * changed the water in the fish tank.
    * undercoated the new boiler cupboard in the kitchen.
    * organised my dads cds/dvds into genre and alphabetical order - it was driving me mad so took the opportunity to do it whilst he's away.

Having a break now, going to attack the bathroom this afternoon/evening - it looks clean on the surface but i want to blitz it.

    Hope everyone's well! xx
