I view of Sarahshattered's earlier post I would like to point those of you with children/teenagers and internet access at this

But basic advice is monitor their internet use and try to keep internet access to public areas - ie NOT in their bedrooms. Watch webcam use very carefully and talk to them about it.

I ordered the green CD-ROM and we gave it out to all our parents at my school - point teachers at it and they can order copies for everyone in school. AFAIK they are free. Note it's a .org so a charity.

    HTH

(I know that isn't flying but feel some of you might be looking for information on keeping kids safe after that - hope that's ok Pigpen?)

Been to Crystal Peaks (didn't hang my handbag outside the loo LOL) and managed to buy Dorma sheets in a linen colour for £4.99 from TK Maxx - just the colour I want for DS's room as the sheets I curerently use on his bed are coming to the end of their useful life. I also got a jazzy melamine salad bowl and DD persuaded me to buy new salt and pepper mills - the ones I have now (wooden) are somewhat dated TBH and came with exOH so were probably bought by the GF he lived with before he hooked up with me...having said that I was looking for a breadbin! I now have funky acrylic ones (and still by Cole & Mason) I will pass the old ones onto the charity shop when I have washed them out.

I am just about to have a restorative :coffee: then I will vacuum the stairs and check the list...

    Evening everyone.

My first visit to the ward went fine and I felt better afterwards. Did a bit of meet and greet after that then to DDs for a cuppa. Going to put some washing in then finish todays list.

SS Thats quite scary and worrying.

    Triker Big hugs.

Huge hugs triker honey - pigpen put it so well but I just wanted to say that it shows what a caring dedicated person you are in your job that you feel so affected - cuddle your DD's even though they annoy the hell out of you now and then:D will be thinking of the parents of that poor youngster - what a tragic loss for them.
SS supergirl babes - you read my mind- I was going to get in touch later as I thought you were maybe still away on the beach!!!! Scary stuff but i am sure you will keep your girls as safe as you can - they will find a way to get the information if they want to:eek: but its the meeting and grooming that scares the !!!!!! out of me.

pigpen roll on friday then for DD1's return - hope she had a nice time and got over her sickness - I am sure she will be just as good a help when she gets back - has she moved into her own room now?

paybacktime2008 - I hope you manage to stay longer than a week - we wont bite - honest!!!! I will send you a pm shortly - well done for getting all the list done.

boddy :T:T silly person worrying for nothing -glad it wasnt too daunting after all:D

ok I have been a wee bit MIA this afternoon but i did do one thing from todays list - I had a haircut!!!! I phoned and the girl that does my hair had a space so of I went at 2.30 - they were a bit behind when i got there but that was fine I just sat and watched this little 4 year old girl getting her bob cut - she was sooo good and looked gorgeous and because the boss wasnt in they gave her the full works - straightners (dont know if they were actually working!),hairdryer, mouse, hairspray and she just loved it!!
I have had a really short cut again and I love it - its even better than the last time I think.
I then went and posted a package.
went to poundstretchers for a couple of bits
then to M&S to get 2 fuschias that my NOF had given me the money for instead of flowers - 2 for £6 so a good deal.
It has taken me all afternoon and I was cream crackered when i got in but have recovered a bit catching up here - will have to go and do something for dinner now.

I did have a bit of a shock before I went out - i was getting ready when the electrician came with his bill for doing the kitchen - its only double what i expected and I had thought I had been quite generous with my estimate. I suppose to be fair the stuff was more than I expected and he charged VAT which I def didnt expect!! So will have to do a major ebaying for a few days - I can pay this bill but it means I will have to postpone the next part of decorating and I really wanted to get started again next week:eek: or dip into my holiday fund which I have managed not to so far.
    C'est la vie!!
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

I've posted my letters, paid in my cheques, collected my parcel, collected my parking permit, taken a bag of stuff to the charity shop, bought 2 pairs of trousers, and a bargain offcut off lycra, and then bought a Krispy Kreme doughnut!! Now eating a salad for dinner.

Triker - huge hugs; I do understand how you feel. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family of the young person

boddy - glad it went well

vivw and Glamazon - I have a 3 bed house and there's only me :o
